“I won’t collapse.” Storm couldn’t help his grin. He’d never had an omega get so concerned about him. The fact that it wasLinusmade everything perfect.
Linus frowned, though. “Are you so sure of that because you get into fights a lot?”
“I’m trying to avoid fights these days, but yes.”
“Good. That you’re trying to avoid getting hurt, I mean. But I don’t like that you’ve been hurt in the past.” Linus climbed behind the wheel and started the engine.
Storm opened the passenger door.
The scent hit him.
The interior of the Jeep was all intense daffodil, with a hint of musk that struck him like a punch to the gut. “Fuck.”
“Storm?” Linus looked over worriedly.
“Nothing.” Storm held his breath and swung himself into the passenger seat. He shut the door. Then he found the controls for his window, rolling it all the way down. Only then did he dare to breathe again.
“Do I smell that bad?” Linus mumbled.
Storm snorted and gestured vaguely at his crotch. “The opposite, Professor.”
His pants were now straining, full to bursting. Probably because Storm had made a habit of burying his face in Linus’ bed, jerking off to his musk. The combination of Linus’ scents triggered an automatic response by this point.
And Linus had flooded his Jeep with musk on the way back from the college.
Linus’ eyes almost fell out of his head. “You’re hard—But didn’t you just...?”
Storm groaned in embarrassment. “Can we ignore my predicament?”
“Y-yes!” Linus squeaked. He dragged his gaze away as though it weighed a ton, his face bright red. “I’m—not looking.”
Immediately after that, his eyes darted back to Storm’s hips.
“Definitely not looking,” Storm said, a thrill shooting through him.
Except Linus peeked a third time, andfuckthat did not help the matters in Storm’s pants.
“You should know that I don’t go around doing this to every omega,” Storm said, trying not to imagine Linus’ hands on him.
“You don’t?” Linus’ eyes grew wide.
Storm huffed. “Professor. I’ve been hanging around you a lot. Do you think I havetimeto do all this for another omega?”
Linus stared, his disbelief growing.
Storm hesitated. Maybe he shouldn’t have mentioned just how much time he spent around Linus. “We should get going.”
“Oh! Crap. I’m sorry.” Linus started the Jeep and drove out of the parking lot, the next few minutes passing in a hum of road noise. “Is your nose still hurting?”
“Just a touch. You don’t have to feel bad.”
“I will until it’s healed,” Linus said firmly.
Storm cracked a smile. “Why don’t you stand up for yourself, when you’re so willing to do it for others?”
Linus glanced at him, surprised. “What?”
“The other day, you were panicking,” Storm said. “I saw you in the Jeep’s side mirror; you were nervous. It wasn’t your fault that the Jeep broke down in the middle of the road. But you were so embarrassed about holding up traffic. At the mechanic’s, you could’ve lied and told them you had an alpha. And with the random alphas that hound you for no good reason—you could’ve told them to fuck off, but you didn’t. You don’t protectyourself,Professor.”
