Storm groaned and buried his face in his hand. “Not that I don’t appreciate you coming all the way here, Hades, butgo away.”
“Was I wrong?” Linus blurted. Storm couldn’t meet his eyes. “Wait. So... that spot isn’t for your parents?”
“No,” Storm mumbled, his ears turning red.
“Who...?”
“Who do you think?” Hades asked, still cracking up.
Storm had gotten his tattoos over the last four years. He... had also liked Linus since four years ago.
Linus froze, his own face burning. “Um.”
They stared at each other, awkward and on the edge of something momentous.
“Is that space for me?” Linus whispered.
Storm’s throat worked. “Yeah.”
That was insane. A permanent part of Storm’s skin, just for him.
“I—I’m not sure what to say,” Linus admitted.
“You don’t have to agree yet. I wasn’t going to bring it up anytime soon.” Storm pulled off his gloves and cupped Linus’ face with his warm hand. “May I?”
They stared into each other’s eyes, that familiar electricity sparking between them again.
“Please.” Linus wet his lips; Storm’s gaze snagged on his tongue. Then they leaned in, and Storm’s mouth pressed soft and velvety against his own.
“You’re so amazing,” Storm whispered. He deepened the kiss, brushing his fingers through Linus’ hair. “I’ve wanted you for ages. Wanted you to be mine.”
Linus’ heart missed a beat. “I’m yours.”
Storm made a quiet, pleased sound. And he tasted Linus, sweeping his tongue inside to tangle them together. “So beautiful. Mine.”
They shared several breaths, their mouths never parting as Storm pulled him closer, his tender words lighting Linus to his very core. Storm ran his hands up and down Linus’ sides, trailing his scent glands all over Linus’ body.
“Mine,” Storm growled. He lifted Linus off his feet, pressing him up against a wall. Linus’ heart kicked.
Hades cleared his throat. “Just so you know, I saw a cruiser pulling up. Do you want them to find you kissing over a dead body?”
“It’s just Varrick,” Storm said against Linus’ lips. He slipped his tongue inside; Linus gasped and clutched at his shirt. “Hisomega has probably made him do worse.”
Linus laughed. Hades snorted.
“I’ll get going,” Hades said with an odd inflection to his tone. “I don’t want to be caught up in the investigations.”
Storm broke the kiss, frowning over at Hades. Linus followed his line of sight. Hades looked grumpy.
“What’s wrong?” Storm asked his Brother.
Hades shrugged and waved, disappearing through the front door.
“Huh,” Storm said. “I wonder what that was about.”
Linus shrugged. He cupped Storm’s face gently and turned him back. Bruises were starting to form around Storm’s eyes; his cut lip had stopped bleeding. “I’m sorry for getting you into this mess.”
Storm shook his head. “No, sweetheart. This isn’t your fault. It was that asshole’s.”
