Storm tempered down his scoff, if only because Linus’ presence made everything better.

They had gone on a couple of short rides earlier this week to help Linus get used to riding. Storm could tell it tired him out, though.

Riding on a motorcycle was different from driving: You had to sit upright the entire time. Even though Storm was taking the brunt of the wind resistance, and even though Linus could lean againstthe bike’s trunk for support, some of the buffeting winds still got to him.

“Areyoudoing okay?” Storm asked.

“Yeah,” Linus murmured, squeezing his knees around Storm’s hips.

Storm squeezed back with his elbows—the only way he could touch Linus without taking his gloved hands off the handlebars.

If he could ignore their terrifying destination, Storm would admit that this was one of his greatest dreams: riding on a wide open country road with his omega wrapped around him.

“We can stop somewhere if you need a break,” Storm said.

“But we just stopped not too long ago!”

“I won’t lose a chance to massage the feeling back into your hot ass.”

He couldfeelLinus’ blush from here.

“My numb ass,” Linus corrected him.

“Is it numb again?”

“Not yet.”

“Good.” Storm wriggled his elbow against Linus’ knee. “C’mon, pick a song and we can both listen to it.”

“I’m too scared of using my phone. Knowing me, it’s going to fly out of my hands and get crushed under a semi-truck.”

“Yeah, we don’t want that,” Storm said. “Guess you’re stuck listening to me.”

Linus laughed and leaned into his back, their helmets bumping together. “I don’t mind.”

Storm’s chest swelled with everything he felt for his omega. If things with Mom and Dad don’t go right, at least I’ll still have him.

He clung to that thought and kept on riding.

“I still thinkwe should’ve taken the Jeep,” Linus said. “I don’t mind driving.”

Storm frowned at the road. “I mind. Cowgirl isn’t ready for interstate travel; there’s still a bunch of things I want to get fixed before I’d trust her to take us there and back.”

Not only that. Storm had never learned to drive. He didn’t want to put the pressure of driving twelve hours—round trip—on Linus’ shoulders, especially now that Linus’ pregnancy fatigue was starting to creep up on him.

Instead, he had strapped Linus to the motorcycle, so Linus wouldn’t fall off if he happened to fall asleep.

When he felt Linus lean heavily sideways, he nudged his omega gently. “Hey. Do you see the baby cows?”

“Hmm?” Linus stirred.

“Baby cows, sweetheart.”

That got Linus’ attention. His breath hitched and he breathed more deeply, turning his attention to their surroundings. “Oh! Calves. They’re so adorable!”

“I would pull over for a selfie with them, but they would run off before we could get a picture.”

“Awww.” Linus sagged.
