Thea looked up at Felix in the dim light, and the lightest of smiles danced on his lips. She took a breath. It was time. She was ready. Ready to make all the fantasies she’d had about him a reality. To feel him deep inside her. To banish the loneliness she’d felt for so long.
A month ago, if someone had told her that Felix would be the man to tempt her, Thea would have laughed. But right now? He was all she wanted.
Thea lowered her arms and opened his shirt, pressing her lips against the freckles on his skin. The throb low down in her belly began again, and she traced her hands down his chest, desperate to touch him. To feel his skin pressed against hers.
He ran his hands over her body, too, gathering goosebumps all the way, and he bent to meet her mouth with the softest of kisses. As their tongues curled around each other, she moved her hands down to the hot skin at his waistband and popped the button on his fly. Without hesitation, she gripped the fabric and pushed his trousers down to release his solid length.
Thea reached down and took Felix into her hand. At her touch, he let out a low, throaty groan that had Thea’s toes curling in delight.
He met her hand with his own. “Wait. I need to get out of these clothes.”
Thea tugged at her lip with her teeth. “I won’t argue with that idea. I brought protection. Condoms. They’re somewhere in my bag.”
Thea glanced around, trying to locate her luggage. Felix leaned in to kiss her forehead. “It’s okay. I have it taken care of, but I like your optimism about how the night would go.” As hespoke, he pulled his trousers back up, taking off his shirt before wrapping it around Thea.
“I don’t want you to get cold. I’ll be right back.” He gave her a last kiss on the end of her nose before disappearing into the bathroom.
Thea sat down on the bed, the soft thump of a drawer closing in the bathroom and a rip of foil alerting her to Felix’s progress. She supposed that with his lack of furniture, the bathroom was the logical place to keep his supplies. The man was nothing if not organised. He probably had a special vault lined with condom packets, laid out in colour order.
Thea counted eighteen breaths before Felix’s husky voice met her ears. Thea grinned, but before she could turn around, the mattress sank behind her, and his lips were at her neck, his nose nudging away the fabric of the shirt he’d given her.
“I’m sorry for my prolonged absence. It seems I’m not quite the pro I thought I was.”
Her eyes widened. Had he lost his erection? Had the thought of being with her not been enough to keep him hard?
“Do you need any help? We can start again if you like?”
Felix came to join her. He lay down on his side, his head in his palm. “What do you mean?” His fair brows drew together.
How best to phrase this? “Well, if you’ve lost your ability to perform…”
Felix’s brows almost met in the middle now. But as Thea nodded towards his groin, he chuckled. “I can assure you I’m more than ready to deliver on my promises. I just meant I was a bit out of practice with the rubbers.”
Heat rushed to Thea’s cheeks. “I’m sorry. I didn’t intend to call your performance into question.” Thank goodness he’d thought her comments funny. But with the idea of Felix having performance issues, she couldn’t resist teasing him. “You must have a lot of groupies now you’ve been on the telly. I’m sure I’m not the first woman you’ve slept with since your marriage. Imean, what with you being rich and stern and everything. Some women love that sort of thing. You must be in demand.”
Felix gave a guttural laugh, making the mattress vibrate beneath Thea’s bottom. “Am I reallythatstern?”
With a grin, she lay beside him on the crisp white sheets. “A bit. But I don’t mind.” Her teeth tugged on her bottom lip. “I think it’s quite sexy.”
He shook his head before kissing her on the nose again. “I’ll take that as a compliment, but if we don’t get into the swing of things before long, I may have some wilting issues.”
Thea did not want Felix to have wilting issues tonight, so she nudged him onto his back and climbed to straddle him. She trailed her hands over his chest, lingering at his toned abdomen. He did have the best dad bod. As he watched her, his eyes glowed, and her breath thinned. “I quite like your whole stern vibe. It makes me feel naughty.”
With a huff of laughter, Felix reached out to touch her hair and opened his mouth to speak. Thea gave him no chance, though, leaning down to kiss him, grinding her hips into his, the pressure between them sweet relief. Felix reached for her buttocks, pulling her in hard before he moved his lips to her ear.
“Thea. I want you to know I haven’t slept with anyone since my divorce.”
She sat up straight as an arrow, his hips solid between her thighs. “Really?”
Felix shook his head. “Nobody else has tempted me. I’ve been far too busy practising being stern.”
“Not even some of the younger mums from the school?”
Felix shook his head again.
“No poor widows after your money? None of the beautiful people downstairs?”
“None of them,” he murmured, his voice low and gruff. Perfect.
