Crap.I’m going to be late to work even though I’ve been here for hours.
I wrap my towel around my waist and start digging through my bag for my shirt when the door opens.
I jump back, half hiding in the shower, but whoever it is doesn’t see me and continues into the bathroom.
And it’s not just anyone. It’s Lennox.
Is she reaching for her waistband?
I jump out from the shower and hold a hand out to stop her. “Wait!”
“Ahhh!” she screams, and it’s like I’m watching her in slow motion. She turns back to the door but runs into it instead and bounces off the edge before I finally move to catch her.
She falls backward into my chest, and I wrap my arms around her to protect her fall. We crash to the ground in the small space between the sink and the shower. The tile is cold on my back, and I’m just as frozen. I think my towel is still intact, but I’m too terrified to check.
It’s miserably silent, and then she speaks.
“What just happened? Am I still asleep?”
I can’t help it. “Do you often dream about half-naked men?”
“Grant!” She finally turns to look at me and whatever she planned to say next falls off her lips. Her eyes widen when they land on my chest, and my heart races.
“What is that?” She says, pointing at the tattoo on my pec.
I look down as if I have no clue what she’s talking about.
“Where did it come from?” She asks again, her finger resting on the black ink on my chest.
I want to tell her what it means. But I can’t. Not yet.
“Really, Lennox?” I smirk. “Have you never seen a man's chest before?”
Her cheeks go positively cherry and her lips part, but no words escape.
If she asks again, maybe I’ll tell her. Maybe I’ll confess every feeling I’ve held in my heart for her if she would just ask.
“Lennox!”
I don’t have time to move away before Trent and Michael burst into the small bathroom. Thank heavens Sean isn’t with them.
Lennox scrambles away from me like she’s been stung. I could try to pretend that the feeling is mutual, but all I want to do is pull her back to me. Where she belongs.
“What the heck is going on?” Trent looks ready to rip me apart.
I hold out my hand and slowly stand, securing the towel to my waist with my other hand. I don’t need any more accidents here.
“Lennox walked in on me showering and fainted when she saw my abs.” I’m smiling, but I’m pretty sure the beautiful girl beside me is not.
“Excuse me! You didn’t lock the door! And I had to pee!”
“Lennox, men work here,” Michael says with a scowl. “You always have to knock even if it’s unlocked.”
“She’s right. I forgot to lock the door. That’s my bad.” I’d rather one of them punched me for supposedly taking advantage of their precious sister than blaming everything on her.
“Still Lenny, you should know this, you grew up in a house with three boys.” Trent piles on the guilt.
A scowl covers her face, but it doesn’t mar her beauty. “How could I forget?” She mutters before pushing past her two hulking brothers who just frown.
