Unable to help herself, she continued to move on him for long minutes, savoring the sensations he brought out in her.
His teeth scraped over her shoulder and she held her breath, waiting for him to mark her in some way.
She swallowed her disappointment when he moved his mouth away from her shoulder and onto her mouth. It reinforced her need to keep her emotions in check. In the short amount of time she’d known Reaper, he’d come to mean more to her than any other in her life, but she didn’t mean as much to him.Not that she expected to be.
Before long, she fell from heights that scared her, but sensed Reaper’s comforting arms surrounding her. When she found the strength to open her eyes, she once again she found herself on her back, staring into his.
“Are you okay?” he asked.
She shivered at his concern, and he misinterpreted her actions as cold.He turned them until her back pressed against his chest, and pulled the comforter up and over them. His arms squeezed her, and a pain in her chest almost caused her to gasp aloud.
Making love to him had been a mistake.
Not one that she would regret, but when her time with him was over—and it would be—she’d done the unthinkable and had made it close to impossible to let him go.
