“No, don’t move. I saw his pussy ass talkin’ to you earlier. I even noticed how uneasy you were when you left from talkin’ to him.”
Lucky nodded his head and two dudes snatched Will from his chair and choked until he was put to sleep.
“Who is he to you? Have you slept with him? And be honest with me. I don’t want you lying to me too.”
“I’ve never been with him. He lives next door to me and he constantly tries to get with me but I haven’t slept with him. He started creeping me out but I don’t want anything to happen to him.”
“What mean creeping you out?”
“He would pop up at my house, leave notes and one time he was sitting on my porch waiting for me to get home. Tonight was my first time hearing what his name was. I don’t even know him.”
“Bet!” He nodded his head again and they dragged him away from us.
Who the hell was I dating? He kept on talking about future projects like he didn’t just have two niggas choke and drag Will’s ass to God knows where. Nobody at this table was normal if they didn’t think that shit was crazy. I’ve seen some crazy things in the hood but never anything this crazy. Lucky grabbed my hand and caressed it. I’m assuming I was looking nervous. I took a few breaths and drunk a few glasses of wine to get my mind off of what had just happened.
“What did you do with him?” I asked Lucky when we made it back to Lucky’s spot.
“Don’t worry ‘bout it. You won’t have to worry ‘bout him bothering you anymore.”
“He doesn’t deserve to die just because he was infatuated with me.”
“Do you think I’mma let a muthafucka live that is obsessed with you? Next thing I know, he done kidnapped you, raped you and dumped your fuckin’ body in the woods. Hell nah, I’m not chancing it.”
My stomach was weak just thinking about death. He was talking like it was normal for him.
“Who are you? Like seriously tell me who the hell you are.”
“I’m Lucky. Who else would I be?” He placed my feet in his lap and started caressing them.
“Why do you have them two men with you all the time. When we go eat, they outside waiting like they your bodyguards. Are you into something I need to fucking know about? I don’t want to be a part of anything drug related.”
“Is that what you think? I brought your ass to this trip and you’ve sat with my people to see what I do.”
“Don’t lie to me. When I ask a questions, I want the truth.”
He laughed before pulling me on his lap. “I’m an ex-drug dealer. I built my empire off cocaine. I don’t fuck with it no more. I’m damn near thirty years old and I wanna start a family. I won’t lie and say that I don’t see it but I don’t touch it. I’m still getting’ money from the drug game. I have a lot of people that owe me. Trust me when I say danger will never come your way. I’m clean and the two niggas you see me with are my shooters. That’s just how clean I try to keep things. My past life wasn’t pretty.”
“Lucky, I don’t know. You should have told me all of this before we had sex the second time. It would have gave me the opportunity to see if this was something I wanted to pursue.”
“Look at me.” He lifted my chin. You never asked me anything about my life except kids and did I have a woman. I have nothing to hide. When I say nothing will happen to you, that’s what I mean.”
Imade sure Blessyn was asleep before I threw some clothes on and headed down to the basement where Will was being held. He was a damn good partner but the way he was looking at Blessyn didn’t sit well with me. I had to kill him. He was tied up and beat up pretty bad.
“Did y’all send someone to his house to go through it.”
“Already done and they found mail with her name on it; he also had a pair of her shoes that I assume she leaves on the porch.”
“Will, buddy,” I slapped his face. “I want you to wake up and answer a few questions for me. Come on, wake up.” His eye fluttered after a few more slaps.
“Lucky, please let me go.”
“I would if I didn’t love her. I know you Will and I know your obsession with black women is dangerous. Do I need to mention the black college student?”
“Lucky,” he said in a whisper.
“You killed her because she didn’t want you. That’s how you started fuckin’ that public defender, I sent her to help you, but you couldn’t keep that dick in your pants. I can’t let you take Blessyn from me. It was nice doing business with you.”
“Please,” he begged.
