Opening our eyes, we looked down at the now open locket. “There’s a note!” Xari exclaimed. He quickly grabbed the note and unfolded it. There was a lot written down, and both sides were filled out. “I’ll read it out loud.”

“Our dearest boy.

Congratulations on finding your soulmatch! We are so happy for you both. With your new magic at your hands many things will be easier. The locket is your guide to finding the others. There will be two other soulmatched pairs. The legends had six members in the council of mages, three bonded pairs, all ruling together. You are bound to the others, not in the same way the two of you are together, but through the bond of your past. You are the reincarnated souls of the legends, we know this might sound crazy, but according to legend, you’ll keep being reborn to lead the mages. As we write this, we already know the final mages will be there within six years. We have no idea when your soulmatch arrives on Sutiner, or how longyou’ve been there before reading this, but know they will all join you when you’ve been there for six years, we hope that helps.

We need to warn you and your bonded. The council will know when you receive your magic and will likely send someone to...dealwith you. You must fight back! Practice your magic and train your familiars. Do whatever you can to succeed. We’ll be waiting at home for you to return and take your rightful place. When all of you have your magic, then you’ll be able to return. How, we sadly do not know, but we trust you’ll figure it out.

To find the other mages using the locket, you need to think about their names and beg the locket to guide you. We infused it with our magic, too, hoping it would help guide you.

We already know the names of the next two who’ll be shunned after you. Silver Whitestone & Wilston Braine. Think of either of those names and search for their soul. The locket will work best if you think of the name and then the soul, since your souls are connected, this will be the most successful way of doing it.

For those you don’t know the name of, just think of a soul you know, we hope that’ll be enough to link the locket to their location.

We wish we could help out more. See you soon.

Love

Your mothers.”

Xari choked out the last part. I might not have the same ability to read emotions as he did, but I swear I could feel his sadness. I hugged him close, not saying anything as I held him. He’d been so strong these past years, waiting for me to come along. I had to be strong for him now, allowing him to share his feelings with me. Good or bad, I wanted to be the one helping him through it.

We sat like that for several minutes before he quickly snapped out of it. “They said mages were coming for us,” he rushed out, like he’d just realized we were in potential danger now. “We need to get the locket fixed and practice our magic.” I got his worry, I felt it myself. I wasn’t a fighter, never had been. But I would practice as much as possible to protect my man.

Holding my hand out, we both closed our hands around the now closed locket. “Silver?” I asked, knowing we needed to decide on the name we tracked first.

“Silver,” he agreed. We closed our eyes and followed Xari’s mothers’ instructions. Searching for Silver’s soul. It got warm again, alertingus something had happened. We looked down at the faint glow it now emitted.

“It worked,” Xari said, a smile of relief taking over his whole face. “Now we can find Silver.” I smiled back, but it was swallowed up as he kissed me, invading my mouth with his tongue. I whimpered, wanting nothing else than to get naked with him again.

“Is it safe here?” I asked, fearful that the mages could find us at any time.

“We can’t live life in fear, baby, but if you don’t feel safe, we can wait.” I loved him so much, but he had a point, we couldn’t live the next two years being afraid someone would attack us. And that was if we even succeeded in finding everyone and somehow learned how to create portals in that time. Maybe Sutiner would be our home for longer than we wanted.

“Take your dick out,” I said, already standing up and tugging my own pants down.

“Fuck yes,” he groaned, removing his pants and pushing me into the van. I felt better when he locked the doors behind us, closing us inside. He pushed me down on the mattress and laid his half nakedbody on top of mine. We were in our socks and shirts, a truly sexy combination, but I didn’t care.

We kissed, enjoying this moment of freedom. I wanted more of these moments, but I was also realistic. We would need to be cautious.

He took us both in hand while I searched for the lube next to the mattress. Once I was successful in my search, I handed it over to him. He pushed back on his heels and coated his hand and our dicks in lube. Leaning back over me we resumed kissing as he jerked us off together. It might have been messy, but as he whispered his dirty promises to me, I couldn’t help but feel how perfect the moment was.

“I’m gonna tie you up with my magic, baby,” he whispered, telling me everything he planned to do once we were back in our world. “I’ll make rope, securing your hands and feet, then I’ll create wind to caress your skin as I pepper it with my kisses, licking every inch of your skin.” He kissed down my neck, still rubbing us together. “I’ll take you every day, making sure we have plenty of time to play together, plenty of time for me to fuck into you. For me to worship you.”

I cried out, seeing all the scenes he painted in my mind, unable to hold off any longer. I wanted everything he’d promised me. “Promise me,” I whispered after he came, too.

He tilted his head in question, still leaning over my body, panting for his breath. “Promise what?”

“That you’ll do every single thing you said.”

A grin spread across his gorgeous face. “Oh, that I candefinitelypromise you.”

We cleaned up with some wet wipes, both sated and wanting a nap. We left the van and called our familiars back. We had a direction, but we needed to practice a little before we headed out on the road. I would feel better knowing we had a grasp on how our magic worked, before we went out into society again. For all we knew, the mages sent after us could attack us in broad daylight, and if they hit just right, they could take us out without anyone around us being alerted by it.

Snowflake and Leon napped beside us while we stood and got ready to practice. “Do you know your element?” I asked, not having any clue what mine was.

He shook his head. “I always thought you felt the element inside of you, but I don’t have anything specific I feel.” I felt the same way, which wasn’t promising.

“Maybe we aren’t as powerful as your mothers believed we would be? Or maybe we need more time before our magic settles.” I really didn’t want to think about what would happen if we got attacked. Would I even be able to protect Xari? I couldn’t live without him now, the thought alone scared the life out of me.
