Page 72 of Generation Omega: Revealed

“Yes, you would.” Gideon’s squinting at me, but he seems resigned somehow about me and our awkward situation. “She’s yours in a biological way, and you haven’t found your balance in this new life yet. But we’ll get there.”

The omega is pleased with Gideon. “So, you’re not going to toss him off the balcony?”

He kisses her head. “Nope. The instincts have spoken. We need to help him get past this, and I’ve got some ideas.”

“Me too,” she purrs and touches the hem of her shirt, raising it just slightly and teasing her fingers over the now-exposed skin.

White light flashes before my eyes and I’m suddenly a creature who only knows how to fuck. I’m snarling filthy words and the omega is grinning at me, safe with her alpha. I hate his hands on her. I hate the familiarity they share. I want to bend her over the back of the couch and drive my cock into her while she screams, moans, and whines for more. She’ll beg for it, and I’ll give her more than she’s ever had.

“Settle,” Gideon orders, and this time my inner alpha shudders before fighting back.

It’s not Gideon I hear next, as clearly as if the words came from an actual person living inside me.

Listen to him.

He was chosen to lead you.

He can help you find the balance you’ve never had.

Stop fighting him or you’ll all die.

Your omega will die if you can’t control yourself.

Your pack will falter without you.

Listen to him.

I growl as I fight the alpha taking root inside me. He’s a bitter, willful, brutish tyrant, which is an incredibly embarrassing discovery. He’s a base cave dweller to my cerebral, academic self—I’ve never read or heard anything about a new alpha experiencing this sort of conflict.

“I’m so sorry.” My shame is worn openly now, but I still can’t take my eyes off her.

“Can you talk to us, maybe reboot your brainy professor side?” Even after everything I’ve said, so many vile things, she’s still encouraging me to find my way.

“I’m not sure… your perfume… it’s everything. Can you scent me?”

She shakes her head. “I didn’t with Gideon either, not when we first met. He reacted to my fragrance, not the other way around. I still don’t know what I smell like to you guys—Gideon’s keeping secrets.”

Gideon nuzzles against her head. “We’rekeeping secrets.”

Curiosity burns inside me, battling back the caveman. “At what point did you first recognize his scent?”

A beautiful blush appears on her angelic face. Then she shrugs, preening before Gideon’s smugness. “In the shower.”

They’ve already been in the shower together! Control flies the coop and I’m lost again, emitting a storm of jealous, possessive, explicit, and completely unacceptable statements to my omega, her first alpha, and the legacy that created this entire situation.

“Settle.” Gideon leans and inhales her blossoming perfume, slowly licking up her neck while purring loudly to keep her entranced. Her eyes close and she sighs for him.

It takes a few moments before his direction reaches the sentient portion of my mind and I use it as a grappling hook to climb my way back to the man I recognize. “Why would the legacy do this?” I sound as affronted as I feel.

“What specifically?” the omega asks. I still don’t know her name, but I’m too ashamed to ask when I’m more beast than man.

“I don’t understand the reality of what’s happening. I admit, I might have glamorized therevealsof old. I might have assumed a more distinguished experience than was factually accurate, but if it wasthis, surely someone would have written about it. Yes, we all know that when the heats and ruts begin, the physical overwhelms the cerebral, but this is…”

“Hot?” she offers, giving me a sly smile.

“Why aren’t you afraid of me?”

Her dimples are as lovely as the rest of her. “Because Gideon won’t allow you to do anything that isn’t in my best interest, and it’s refreshing to not be the only one doing embarrassing things. I rip my clothes off a lot, and if Gideon weren’t keeping me stable, I’d already be naked and grinding against you.”
