Page 109 of Generation Omega: Revealed

Tillie clings to me, shuddering with every violent outburst from the alpha trio. “When they get rowdy, it turns my insides to jelly.”

“You’re okay. They’ll work it out, and that stuff isn’t about us.”

“Us,” she whispers, kissing my neck. “We’re anusagain.”

“We’ve always been anus, haven’t we?”

“Always.”

At the bottom of the steps, I take her directly to the room I chose for her nest, the triangular quarters in the bow of the ship. Once inside, I turn and lock the door—not that it would stop a feral alpha, but I’m not that worried about Gideon and Kaz losing control of the professor.

For a minute, I just hold Tillie and she seems content to be held. But the clock’s ticking, and I need to make things right before we’re invaded by more alphas. So, I set her down and claim her hand.

“I’m sorry, Till. I shouldn’t have listened to the instincts. It was stupid, and I know better than to…”

Tillie squeezes my hand. “No, just stop. You don’t need to apologize for anything. You didn’t do anything wrong. Ethan, I love you. As long as you’re okay, we’re good. We’reus, though ourusis a little more crowded now.”

My heart aches, alarming Kaz, but I send him akeep awayvibe. He can’t save me from this, becausethis—Tillie and me—is everything. “You really mean that? That we’re okay?”

Her lovely eyes become misty. “Ethan, I almost lost you in that alley. You were shot twice—you could have died. I’m so grateful that you’re here and that you still want to be with me.”

“Of course, I do.”

“Really? It’s a lot, isn’t it?” She sweeps her hand in the direction of her alphas. “They’rea lot, aren’t they?”

I smile at my beautiful soulmate. “Don’t tell them, but I’ve figured out how to think about our situation.”

“Really? How’s that?” It was always easy to capture Tillie’s curiosity, and it’s mine now.

“Well, it’s pretty obvious. I was yoursfirst, so basically, this omega adventure isours—yours and mine—and they’re just along for the ride. They’ll be busy keeping us safe, so we’ll have more time to…” I nod suggestively toward the pile of blankets already covering the thick mattress.

Her eyes glitter with mischief and she blushes. “I’m liking this idea.”

My face reddens to match hers, which I won’t explain yet. “Do you know what happens when you’re aroused? I mean, to your other alphas?”

At her blank stare, I laugh.

Oops, now she’scuriosity on steroids. “Wait, what happens?”

“Hard as a rock and saluting proudly—I don’t know whether it will always be like that, but I’m already thinking of all the fun we can have at their expense.”

Tillie giggles and leans into me, and I practically smother her in a hug.

“Am I hurting you?”

“No, and you don’t burn me anymore, thanks to Kaz.” It’s a struggle, but I need to say it. “He takes my pain away—I can’t feel it at all.”

“I’m glad.” She jumps when the exit hatch in the ceiling opens.

“Incoming,” Kaz calls and drops the first of roughly twenty loads of bedding and large bags onto the mattress.

Tillie and I stand back and watch like it’s a tennis match between Kaz and the nest.

“That’s all.” He slams the hatch with the subtlety of a thunderclap.

We both stare at the mountain of bedding, and I know she’s thinking the same thing I am—about her real nest and the time we spent together there.

“I know it’s not the same, but we can make this nice.”
