I nod, my gaze flickering over to him. “That’s exactly what I want.”
“So, I’ll text you the address,” she says and then makes a face. “I really need to go home and get a shower.”
Brady approaches and wraps his arms around Lilly, pressing a kiss to her cheek. “What’s this about a shower?”
He gives her this cocky grin, and her cheeks flame red before they walk off. Great. They’re going to go have shower sex. Reminds me of the fact that I haven’t had shower sex in…well…a long time.
“I suppose I need to go shower, too,” Caleb says when he reaches the bar. “You okay?”
Even better. All I can do is picture him in the shower. The water cascading over his muscles and down to his…
“I’m fine.”
He furrows his brow as though he wants to say more but doesn’t. Instead, he lets me know he put the cash on the table and heads out. Damn, his ass looks fantastic in those jeans.
Shaking my head, I remind myself that I hate him. That all the years we spent together were for nothing.
He hooked up with another girl, and I lost so much because of that. Forgiving him is impossible. And even if he deserved it and I was somehow willing, it wouldn’t change what happened. Some things just aren’t forgivable.

Caleb
Itypically don’t mind working out of town, but it’s been a long week. Mainly because Brady has been ripping and roaring to get back to Hollis. I know it’s because of Lilly. To be honest, I used to be the same way when Casey and I were together. The extra money was good, but the job couldn’t get over fast enough. Now that I don’t have that, I can just stay gone.
“You can’t tell me you haven’t missed this,” Brady grins as we pass the ‘Welcome to Hollis’ sign on the way back into town.
“We’ve only been gone a week.” I roll my eyes.
“A week too long, if you ask me,” Brady grumbles. “I guess that whole absence makes the heart grow fonder bullshit is true, though. I’m ready to make up that absence to Lilly the second I see her.”
I burst out laughing. Same old Brady. “Just not in my house.”
“I wouldn’t get naked in that shithole!” Brady jokes. “Well, not until it’s clean!”
Turning the corner onto my street, I hope and pray that Avery and Lilly have finished up with the house in the time thatwe’ve been gone. It would be nice to move in, and even nicer for it to be spotless.
Brady hops out before I can even kill the engine. He yells at me that I need to do something with my shitty yard before he heads inside. I’m pleased that the smell of cat shit doesn’t assault me when I walk in. It’s finally clean. There are some bags of garbage that I’ll need to take out, but overall, it’s clean and smells good.
I walk through the house, checking each room. All clean. I get to the master bedroom, and the bathroom door is open. As I get closer, I can see bare feet. Long legs lead up to the curvy ass of a woman who is leaning over my bathtub, scrubbing away. Her gray t-shirt is tied at her midriff, and a blue bandana is wrapped around her head. Just a tease of red hair shows from beneath the bandana but there’s no way Casey would be here. She leans over further and I catch a glimpse of her ass cheeks peeking from the bottom of her shorts.
Fuck me.
I watch her for a moment, not wanting to interrupt but curious to know who Avery and Lilly recruited to clean my house. She wipes her forehead against her arm, and her body stiffens at the realization that someone is in the room with her.
“Sorry, didn’t mean to interrupt,” I apologize.
The woman tosses the scrub brush into the tub and strips her gloves off. “You have to be fucking kidding me.”
I’ll kill them. I will kill both of them. I cross my arms and shake my head, unable to resist. “I think you missed a spot, Casey.”
She rises from her knees, no longer giving me that sweet view of her ass, and rushes past me. It’s crazy how her perfume lingers in the air, tempting me to breath it in.
“Fuck you!” she spats, pulling the bandana off her head and letting her hair down.
I grab her arm, pure reflex taking over for a split second. When she attempts to snatch away from me, I jerk her to me. Her breath fans my face, but she doesn’t struggle. We’ve been like this so many times.Angry. Frustrated. Aroused.
I let go of her arm, and she takes a half-step back. Her sparkling green eyes are still fixated on me. They’re full of questions. I almost kissed her. Fuck, I wanted to. She’s not ready for that yet, and maybe I’m not either.
