It grew quiet for a moment. Kerrion looked around the space before speaking.
“So y’all good for now?”
They all looked to Deuce. As the oldest, I was sure what he said was law to them.
“We good,” he said, pulling on the blunt. “We good till we ain’t good.”
I extended a hand to him, but he slapped it away.
“I don’t do that hand shaking shit. Here.” He passed me the blunt. “Let me see if you’re as square as I think you are.”
I smirked as I grabbed the blunt from him. Titan grinned as he shook his head.
“Y’all gon’ put some respect on my guy here. He hasn’t been around me all these years and not learned a thing or two.”
They watched as I pulled from the blunt and held the smoke, allowing the potent substance to marinate before blowing it out through my nose.
“Good shit.”
Smirks formed on their faces as I passed the blunt back.
“You might be a’ight,” Deuce said. He glanced at Titan. “The jury is still out on you.”
Titan shrugged as he pulled two more blunts out of his pocket.
“Lucky for you, I’ve never given a damn about being liked. You gon’ smoke this shit or what?”
Deuce gave a head nod. “Light that bitch.”
Maceo clapped his hands. “Maybe now we can enjoy our night.”
Deuce gave him a side-eye. “Shut your ass up. These niggas walked in here, and yo’ ass went mute.”
“My wife said if I got in any trouble, she wasn’t giving me no pussy, so I shut the fuck up.”
We all laughed at that one.
I couldn’t say that the beef was over, but at least for tonight, we didn’t have to pull out the pistols.
Icouldn’t believe I let my sister talk me into following our brothers to Silk. More than that, I couldn’t believe she had me dressed so scandalously. She’d dressed me in a red halter top dress that dipped low in the front and stopped mid-thigh in the front and right up under my ass in the back. My entire back was out too.
I pulled my curls up into a messy bun and added gold jewelry to accessorize. Mia did a light beat of makeup that looked extremely natural. While I felt sexier than I did on our first date, I knew showing up looking like this was about to start some shit. However, it was for one man and one man only. I just hoped he liked what he saw.
Before we left the compound, Mia and I smoked a fat ass blunt to ease my nerves about doing something so out of my element. We stopped by so the girls could see me, and they gaveme tens across the board. Shar’s crazy ass told me that if I didn’t get fucked tonight, we were gonna have a problem.
“You look so damn good, Jae,” Mia said as we hopped out of her G-Wagon.
“You don’t think this is too much?”
“Hell no. You already turn heads. Tonight, you’re breaking necks.”
I blushed. “I can’t believe I let you talk me into this.”
“Think of it this way. We are testing our brothers’ restraint. They need to learn restraint and get used to seeing you with that man. The plus side is none of them are gonna mess up their pussy supply.”
“We shall see.”
We walked up to the front of the line, bypassing everyone waiting outside. Groans and complaints came from several people, but there was nothing they could do about it.
