I collapse down on my bed, finally letting the remaining tears fall, but these are not for Greg. These tears were for my dad, who I miss more than anything. They were for Oliver, the sweet guy who I barely know, but still managed to crawl deep into my heart. The rest were for me, or the me I used to be. I knew after what Greg did to me, what he took from me, I would never be that girl again.

Every sunrise means you survived sweetheart. One day, one of those sunrises will be different, and you won’t need to survive anymore. You will live.

My dad’s words echo in my head as I finally drift off to sleep. They used to give me comfort and hope, but now they just make me feel like a failure.

I failed, Daddy; I’m so sorry. I don’t think I’m going to live long enough to see another sunrise.

I didn’t fight Greg when he dragged me out of bed. I just followed him down to his car and watched life pass me by as we drove to Gino’s. He barked at me to wait in his office, and like the good little Omega I was, I did exactly as he said. Gino’s was empty, which was strange for a Saturday night, but I had to assume he made sure no one would be here to witness him selling me off like livestock.

About thirty minutes later, Greg waltzes into his office with two guys right behind him. They had to be dressed in all black in their late forties or early fifties. Their faces remained expressionless and I couldn’t get a read on them, but they were about to buy an underage girl, so that was enough for me to judge their characters.

Greg stands next to me and drops a hand on my shoulder, making me flinch, which only makes him dig his fingers into my skin to the point of pain. “Simon, Nick, meet your new omega.”

“Please get away from my omega,” The shorter of the two guys snaps at Greg, who tenses next to me but still takes a couple of steps away from me.

“You have not paid me for her yet, Nick,” Greg points out, but quickly shuts his mouth when the second guy - Simon - glares at him.

“Savannah will be an excellent omega for your pack. She’s young, so you can train her to be exactly what you want.”

“I have some questions for the omega,” Nick says looking over at me. “How old are you?”

“Nineteen!” Greg says before I can answer.

“Let the omega answer.”

“Does it matter?” I ask softly, meeting his eyes.

“Probably not,” He answers, taking a seat across from me. “Has Greg been good to you since you came to stay with him?”

I snort at that and immediately tense, feeling Greg moving towards me.

“Of course I’ve been good to her. She’s family.”

Simon grabs Greg, pushing him further away from me. He says something to him I can’t make out, but pales and nods before shooting me a look that says I better play along.

I should be scared, surrounded by three alphas, one who abuses me and two who want to buy me and do god knows with me. But I’m not scared at this moment, I’m angry.

“My name is Savannah Jordan, not The Omega” I start, my voice sounding strong. “I’m seventeen years old, not nineteen, and I was forced to come to live here when my mom threatened me with my dad's life. Greg is not family; he is married to my mom's sister, who I haven’t seen since the day after I arrived here. She’s fine, don’t worry, she took half the money my mom gave them and is living her best life away from this monster.”

I stare pointedly at Greg, who is seething. I’m surprised they’ve let me talk this much already, but I’ll keep going until I’m forced to stop.

“He has not been good to me, he forces me to work seven days a week. I have to open the restaurant every morning, even when I have school, and close up at night. If I don’t follow his rules, he beats me up. Fuck, even when I follow his rules he beats me up. I’m exhausted all the time. In pain all the time.” I get up slowly, my body screaming in protest as I lift my shirt, showing him the bruises littered all over my body. “I have nothing left to lose, so do your worst.”

There is a moment of silence, the two newcomers exchanging looks before silently agreeing to something. “Savannah, did Greg ever sexually abuse you?”

Him using my name is a surprise, but the look of concern he gives me is what shocks me. “I think so,” I whisper softly, tears streaming down my eyes. “He was so angry with me last night and knocked me out. When I woke up-”

“You raped a child?” Simon asks Greg, the disgust evident in his voice.

Greg is furious, his eyes blazing with hatred as he clenches his fists. “She’s a fucking whore, I caught her fucking a random guy in the bathroom last night, so I decided to check for myself. I’ll find you a new omega, one that isn’t tainted.”

I scream when Simon’s fist connects to Greg’s face. He pulls a gun out from under his jacket, aiming it at Greg. There is a lot of yelling, Greg begging on the floor, but I don’t hear the words. I use the distraction to my advantage, inching towards the door and making a run for it as soon as it opens.

I hear someone calling my name - Simon maybe? - but I don’t stop, I rush down the stairs and past the bar, straight for the doors that will lead me outside to freedom. A pair of strong arms grab me from behind, and a flashback from last night plays through my mind. Greg grabbing me before wrapping his hands around my throat. I start kicking whoever has me, scratching at their arms and just flat out begging them to let me go.

I refuse to leave here as anyone’s property, as someone’s punching bag or plaything. If I don’t walk out of here on my own, I would rather be carried out in a body bag.

“Savannah, you need to calm down,” A soft voice says next to my ear. “I know it doesn’t mean much, but I’m not going to hurt you, Liam Jones sent us to get you. You’re safe now, I promise.”
