“Whoever he is, I like what he is doing to your face.” He made a slight circular motion in front of my head.

I hugged him and clapped his back. “Thanks for everything.”

“You’d be useless without me.” Agreeing, I waved as he left.

Finally, I put Daisy in her harness. Then I grabbed the bag with the lunch containers in it. “You are going to meet a new friend today, Daisy. I will get to know a new friend better; we should have a great evening!”

When I got to the construction site, I hopped out with the bag. Entering the office, I found Sarah sitting at the desk with a hard hat on. I kissed her cheek and put containers next to her. “Dinner for you and Rodney. Dominic made us lunch, which means he made you dinner.”

“You’re here late in the day. I thought you were working at home today?”

“Yup. Done with work for today. I took care of all the orders for you. They should start deliveries next week. I signed contracts for carpet installation, and the plumber is ready to install fixtures. Was there anything else you needed?”

“You’re the best little brother. I have Rodney on-site walking the bottom five floors checking electrical. He’ll be glad to have a nice dinner. He came to work today looking like a Hot Shots billboard. The stuff you got tickled him to his core. He told me to be sure to thank you.”

“I had nothing to do with it. I delivered it. Rodney is watching the dragons on Friday evening to thank River.” I kept the information about the memorabilia to myself. She was terrible at secrets.

“Dragons? So, more than one? How come he didn’t tell me? Where are you going that you wouldn’t be taking Daisy? Are you going with him???” She narrowed her eyes.

“Yes. Two dragons. I suspect Rodney didn’t tell you because you would want all the details, and he was protecting his uncle. I’m going to a nice place for dinner. Yes. It’s a date.” Her mouth dropped open as she stared at me.

“Did you say date?”

“I’ll be in the office tomorrow morning and need to do a walkthrough of the apartments. We also won the bid for 121 Wilton, so we won’t have to move from here for at least another few years.” Gentry Construction owns the location we use as our base of operation right now. When the work in this area was done, it would be paved over and made into a pay lot. “I’ll be unavailable from noon on Friday until Monday morning. I’m taking the weekend for myself.”

Her mouth was still open as she blinked at me. “Did you say date? You’re taking time off?”

“Love you, sis.” I left her questions unanswered and headed out the door with Daisy and leftovers.

I waved at Gary when I entered the building. Daisy sat on my shoulder. “I’ll send you up.”

“Thanks, Gary. I brought you something.” I pulled out the vegetables and bison. “Made fresh today should be plenty for dinner.”

“Thank you, Mr. Gentry, that’s so nice of you. I’m sorry about when we first met. Mr. Barallo gets all kinds of people looking for him.” He smiled at me.

“Please call me Aaron.” He shook my hand. Then, he headed over to the elevator and unlocked it. I rocked on the balls of my feet as I headed up to the penthouse.

The doors opened, and I could see River’s smile from the kitchen. He crossed the room quickly, stopping about a foot away. Daisy and Charlie started moving their heads back and forth. Daisy moved to my other shoulder so the two dragons faced each other.

I looked at River, unsure what I should do. I wanted to reach for him but didn’t want to make him uncomfortable.

“Hi you.” He squeaked at me.

“Hi you.” I realized this was a completely unfamiliar territory for me. I had never really courted a man before. My only relationship waswhen we met at a charity event, and I took him home. He just never left. Any other gentlemen I’ve been around were one-night or evening guests. A wave of anxiety engulfed me. Instinctually, I reached up for Daisy. She rubbed against my hand and then pushed against my neck and cheek, calming me down.

I knew how to greet a friend, but I had never had a mind-blowing orgasm with any of those guys. The awkwardness between us wasn’t improving, so I took his hands and leaned in, gently kissing him.

“Hi, you,” I said again, then smiled. “I thought about you a lot today.” We were interrupted when Charlie and Daisy started chattering at each other. There was never a risk of two dragons not getting along. Sometimes, they wouldn’t become friends, but they would at least tolerate each other.

“They will be fine together.” I unhooked Daisy and removed her harness. “Go play,” I pointed toward the couch. She flew from my shoulder and landed on the cushions.

Charlie had turned around, hurrying back and forth, looking at Daisy. His tail hung down River’s chest, and he flexed his wings, hitting River in the face.

“Charlie, you can play with Daisy.” Understanding immediately, he darted to the arm of the sofa, bobbing his head and jumping up and down. She mimicked his movements.

I couldn’t help but laugh at the two dragons who were going to be great friends. I could tell by how excited they were to be with each other. “As I said, I thought about you so much today. How was your day?”

“I thought about you, too, so many times.” He looked up at me, then right back at the ground. He was adorable when he got nervous. “I did get some business done, then worked in a little time to sulk about not having you here all day.”
