Page 70 of War
“What did you get on her?” I ask Angel. I never wanted to play dirty with this divorce, but Sarah is giving me no choice. I’ve declared war on her. First, I needed something to blackmail her with, and Angel is just the man to take care of that shit. He places some photos down on the table, and my eyes widen with each one. “Just when I think she couldn’t get any more vindictive.”
“Prez needs to see these,” Angel states, crossing his arms over his chest.
“Oh, I’ll be showing him,” I mutter, patting him on the back. “Thanks, brother.”
He dips his head and disappears.
I stare at the photos of Sarah meeting with Wyatt, one of the Insanity MC members. But the picture next to it surprises me even more. It’s a shot of Sarah with Pippa, Ora’s neighbor. The two of them are chatting together like they are long-lost friends. I know Ghost fucked her, so I send him a text to come and find me. I need to find out how she plays into this, but if Pippa belongs to Insanity MC, then she’s likely been spying on us this entire time.
I’m cleaning my bike when Ghost steps into the garage. Of all the men in the MC, he’s definitely themost unstable. The day Ifound out he knocked on Ora’s door and scared her, I wanted to kill him. He’s the last man you’d want with your daughter, but at the end of the day, he’s my brother, and he would bleed for this club just like the rest of us. If you want someone killed? Send in Ghost. No one will see him, and they won’t be able to locate a body.
He cracks his knuckles as he waits for me to speak. “When’s the last time you saw Ora’s neighbor?”
“That day,” he replies, and we all know whichdayhe’s referring to. He tilts his head to the side. “She’s texted me a few times, but I’ve left her on read. Why?”
Standing to my full height, I grab the photographs from the desk in the corner of the garage and hand them to him. His brow furrows and his jaw tightens. “You think she’s one of theirs?”
I nod. “And Sarah.”
“That fucking bitch,” he growls out, slamming the pictures down. “You know, Ora mentioned something. She thought she saw my bike at Pippa’s, but I hadn’t been back there. It must have been one of them paying her a visit.”
“We need eyes on them both.”
“I’ll do it.” Ghost seethes.
Wyatt is now their prez, so we need to be careful and anticipate their next move. They might have retreated and are licking their wounds right now, but they could regroup and come back for us. No one has seen them since the shootout, where they lost ten of their men. Sniper wanted to take them all out, but there’s no way we would have been able to bury that many bodies without getting on the cops’ radar. Luckily, the fine sheriff of Rest Falls doesn’t seem to care too much when it’s a biker death. Anyone else, though, and he would be gunning for us. When that man, Jonas Reed, got shot out the front ofStrikeand died, Sheriff Grayson was not letting that go. Wehad nothing to do with it, and we now know that it was Isle of Insanity MC.
I sent Sarah a picture of the photos. Since she’s with them, she loses all protection from the Serpents, and we can cut all ties. Suit filed a sole application for something called a unilateral divorce. Basically, I can make it happen without her consent. Enough is enough, and I’m not ruining what I have with Ora because of a past mistake.
No more looking back.
There’s nothing there for me.
Watching her eat every bite brings a satisfied smile to my face. She’s the one who usually looks after everyone, but now she’s bearing my child, I’ve told the men to cook their own fucking food because she needs to rest. I tried to get her to leave work, but she said Lu needed her. She compromised by cutting down her days to three days a week, and Lu is going to hire another staff member.
“You going to eat, too, or just watch me?” she asks, putting her fork down with a grin. She was in the mood for steak, and since that’s one of the only things I know how to cook, I went straight to buy what I needed to make it for her.
Between her unusual cravings and emotional outbursts, it’s been an interesting journey so far, and I’m loving every second. I never pictured myself having kids, but I now wouldn’t change it for the world.
But it also terrifies me.
I need to make sure nothing ever happens to them because I will soon have two walking weaknesses, and my enemies will know that.
The clubhouse is the safest place, and I want Ora to live there full-time. I’m still working on that, though, because my woman is fucking stubborn.
Lore’s nose leads him to the kitchen, his lips pouting when he sees the two of us in here. “Is this a date?”
Ora laughs, shaking her head. “Help yourself. War cooked heaps.”
Violet eyes widen before he grabs a plate. “War cooked? When did you become so fucking domestic?”
“Do you want food or not?” I ask him, leaning back in my chair. Personally, I’d prefer it if he left so I can have my woman alone, but I know this asshole isn’t going anywhere.
He shuts up and grabs the biggest steak, two loaded potatoes, and some green salad. He takes a bite and grins, but the quiet doesn’t last for long. “This is good. You’ve been holding out on us.”
“Lore—”
“Who knew all you needed was a sexy woman to bring out this side of you,” he continues, never knowing when toshut the fuck up.
