I broke the kiss, resting my forehead against hers as we both fought to catch our breath. “I love you. You don’t know how much. You don’t know what you do to me.”
Her hands slid down to cup my face and she brushed her thumbs over my jaw. “Lei, I think I have an idea because you do the same to me.”
I took off my thick ceremonial jacket and slung it to the ground. It lay right next to her fur coat.
She chuckled. “You looked good in that.”
“Oh yeah.” I took off my shirt fast, not caring about the buttons snapping away or any rips in the fabric.
No humor left her.
Instead, she slipped her gaze down my muscular chest. “Lei. . .”
“Yes, Moni.”
“We have a feast. What are you doing?”
I slung the shirt to the ground and undid the top button of my pants. “Are you hungry? Or. . .would you like to stay here and feast on each other?”

If Moni thought she was walking out of this hidden place without me taking her—claiming her completely—then she was out of her damn mind.
The very thought made my jaw clench, my hands itching to tear her gown off.
But still, I waited, biding my time like a predator stalking its prey. Patience wasn’t my strong suit, not when it came to her, but tonight. . .tonight, I’d let her come to me.
I stood there, watching her as the fireflies danced around us, their soft glow illuminating her face.
Her lips were swollen from my kiss. Her chest rose and fell as if she was catching her breath from the intensity of it all.
God, she is beautiful.
I looked down at her hand, wearing my ring and grinned.
She’s all mine.
Then, Moni spoke. “No. . .I’m not hungry.”
“Are you sure?”
“Lei. . .I’m just thinking about how serious tonight is.”
“It is serious. It’s a battle to the death.”
“Don’t say that.”
“It’s true.”
“But. . .you can’t die.”
“I won’t. I just wanted you to know that I’m well aware of the seriousness of tonight, yet. . .” I tilted my head to the side. “I still want to fuck you. Right here. Right now.”
She licked her lips.
