Tai shakes his head, amused. "I'm cool. Just try not to get too distracted. We need your full attention for this."

My eyes widen when Rylan jerks his hips slightly, absolutely pulling my focus to him. He laughs in my ear, tapping my thigh in resignation.

"We think it would be a good idea to join forces to investigate the fire. The three of us and you."

"I don't need your help," I start but the two of them just laugh like they are sharing an inside joke.

Tai strums his fingers along the desk. "I have no idea why they don't get along. They are practically the same person."

I narrow my eyes at him. "You better not be talking about Lannister."

Rylan hums in my ear, squeezing my thigh. "You seem stressed."

"About working with you three? Absolutely," I shoot back, ignoring the flames that travel through my body and light up my face.

"You need us," Tai points out. "We have access to things that you don't."

Rolling my eyes, I slap Rylan's hand—not that it does any good. He just squeezes tighter. "I'm more than capable of finding resources."

"We need you," Rylan answers sharply.

I can't help but focus on the husky tone, suddenly feeling like he's talking about more than a joint arson investigation project. I suppress a shiver, darting my gaze to Tai to assess his reaction. There's no way he didn't pick up on the same vibes. Men are idiots but not complex creatures.

Tai grins. "I know I need your expertise. No one knows Cedar Heights better than you."

Fingers dance up my skin, ducking under my Willowbrook skirt. I go to grab Rylan's hand in warning, but his other arm swings out, pinning me.

"Come on, Bex," he whispers, his warm breath sending goosebumps all over my skin. "Are you scared that you won't be able to handle all of us?"

Chapter thirty-seven

Bexley

Mybodytensesupunder his touch but it's not out of fear. He knows what he's doing to me, and I refuse to just cave in.

"I can handle the three of you just fine," I shoot back. "It's just a matter of whether I want to or not."

Rylan chuckles in my ear, brushing the loose tendrils off my neck. His fingertips graze my skin gently before they are replaced with his soft lips. My eyes flutter closed for a brief second before I promptly force them back open, darting a glance in Tai's direction.

Hazel eyes watch me closely with a smug smile accompanying them. When Tai notices I'm staring at him, he leans forward in the chair, resting his elbows on his knees.

"Come on, Spencer. Are you afraid of showing me how you handle Ry?"

This assholedid notjust say that. There's a lot of things I let slide, but insinuating that I'm afraid of them? He knows just what buttons to press to get a reaction—and I hate him for that. It's practically a dare, a challenge. They know I won't back down from something like that.

As if to emphasize the point, Rylan's hand disappears up my skirt again, not stopping until his fingers are pressed against my hipster briefs. He draws little circles around my clit, my body heating up even with the layer of fabric between us.

"I'm not scared of you," I answer. "But you should be afraid of me."

Rylan flattens his hand against my sensitive skin, his palm pushing into my clit. I can't stop the jolt of my body or the arch of my back as I lean against him. Our bodies mold together, perfectly as always, and his teeth nip my throat. "Is that a fact?" He murmurs, slowly pushing the material aside.

Skin upon skin and my mind starts to feel a little hazy. I'm not letting him get the upper hand here. I'm already outnumbered, but I'm not outpowered. Reaching behind, I slide my hand between us, grasping his growing erection through his black shorts.

My mouth tugs into a smirk when I feel him stiffen. He rests his forehead against my shoulder; a small growl caught in his throat as I palm him.

Cocking an eyebrow at Tai, I shoot him a sickly-sweet smile. "See how fast I can take back control? You can't do that."

The words have barely left my mouth when I feel Rylan move beneath me. I'm thrown forward fast, chest landing on the computer desk as a strong hand grabs my wrist and pins it to my back.
