Jordan starts calling me, and I don’t answer, but he calls again, and it’s ringing in my damn helmet, so I just pick up.

“Liam!”

“Sage?”

She lets out a breath, and I slow down a bit.

“Where are you?” She goes on before I can answer. “Jordan told me you won’t be here today? What the heck!”

I shake my head at her, and I don’t think this girl knows what a curse word is. “I’m sure you can find someone to take your pictures. The world will keep rotating without me.”

She sighs again, and I bite my tongue not to laugh at how dramatic this woman is.

“Moon has been taking them for me, and I love him, but they are not the same. You need to get here. Right now, mister.”

I roll my eyes at how she says shelovesMoon. He’s been tagging along to all of our shoots the last few days, and I don’t think it’s an exaggeration when Sage says they’rebesties.

“Not the same huh? I’m flattered.” My tone is drier than the desert, but she laughs as if it weren’t. I steady my bike so I don’t have to hold it as I drive down the street and fix my helmet. I alsoturn my volume down because while she has a beautiful laugh, I can’t hear anything else around me.

“Are you driving right now?” She must’ve heard the honking around me, but I grab onto the handle again and speed off before responding. “Wait, you’re on yourbike? Why are you on the phone?”

“Because you're having a heart attack over my absence.”

She laughs again, and it should not do the things it does to me. I tell her she’s in my helmet, and she says sheknowsthat but voices how I shouldn’t be distracted, and her sweet laugh sure is a damn distraction.

I speed up, trying to fill myself with adrenaline rather than lust, but all I can think of is her in that damn lingerie set.

When Capri called me, I didn’t want to come to see my mom, but after having a hard-on for half of Sage’s photo shoot, I quickly realized if I spent another day with her, I wouldn’t be able to stay away.

I came to LA with the excuse of seeing my mom, and with Sage’s project ending soon, I figured I could just get out of the end of it, but now she’s calling me as if her world is ending.

“So you’re on your way, right?”

“I’m in LA and–”

“I can send you a jet.”

“Sage–”

“Pleasecome.”

Fuck. I’m fucking fucked.

“Fine,” I tell her I have my own plane, which surprises her for some reason, but five hours later, I’m in New York for her.

In the time it took me to get here, I guess she told everyone to leave and come back once I arrived because they only just started setting up when I walked in.

“Liam!”

I turn around, and Sage beams as I walk over to her. She glances down at my helmet before a confused look covers her pretty face. “I thought you were in LA?”

“I was.” I set my helmet aside before leaning against the couch to be at eye level with her.

“Do you have a bike here and in Cali?”

I nod in response, and she picks up my helmet before examining it. “How many bikes do you have?”

“Five.”
