“That’s close enough,” he rumbles.
I eye Noah warily, unable to remember him at all.
He smiles at me again. His ginger hair practically glows under the harsh hospital lighting, and he’s shorter than my men. He doesn’t seem fazed by the intimidating looks they are shooting him. His eyes remind me of Chlo’s, almost the same shade of blue as hers, but a bruise forming under his left eye makes the color stand out more.
“Hi?”
“You don’t remember me, huh?” he asks sadly.
“No, I’m sorry. I don’t remember anything at all.”
“It’s ok. You will,”
“She won’t. You’ve seen that she’s awake; you can leave now,” Sebastian grumbles, stepping in front of me and blocking Noah’s view.
“Did your mother never teach you manners?” Noah snarks, “I wanted to talk to you all first.”
“His mother is a bit of a bitch don’t take any notice,” Dominic says.
“How are you okay with him being here? Near her after what he told us!” Sebastian shouts, his hands flying about wildly as he gets more irritated.
“Because he obviously knows things we don’t. So sit down so we can talk about it,” Dominic snarks, pushing Sebastian into the plastic seat by my bed.
“There’s a seat over there,” Atlas grumbles, pointing to a spare chair by the door.
Noah nods, sitting in the chair, and crosses one leg over the other.
“Talk then instead of just sitting there,” Sebastian orders.
“I was hoping to talk to her alone.”
“Not happening. Talk Gingey or get out.”
“Wow, okay, rude,” Noah mock gasps, his hand clasped to his chest as he pretends to clutch his nonexistent pearls, “I thought the fellow ginger would never have stooped so low.”
I try not to laugh, not when Sebastian is so pissed, but I can’t help it.
“I’m not ginger; I just have reddish-brown hair,” Sebastian says indignantly.
“Oh boy, do I have news for you? Whether you are carrot top or burnt auburn, ya ginger.” His accent gets stronger, and he's Irish, I think.
“Okay, girls, can we stop discussing hair color and get back to what matters?” Pops reprimands them both, but he can’t keep the smile off his face.
“Fine.” Sebastian grits out.
“Fine by me. I want to know what your plan for Charlie is.”
“That’s nothing to do with you,” Zander grumbles.
“It’s everything to do with me since he is my dad.”
