With the flick of the light switch the bathroom illuminated, the settings programmed for low lighting given the time of day—or night—in this case.
I turned on the shower and finally decided to put down my captive. Luna’s palms found my torso once again, and she leaned in. “You might want to take off your socks.”
Then she patted my cheek and entered through the glass door separating us from the rainfall showerhead.
In a few swift movements, my socks were off, and I joined her. My hands found her body wet and wanting.
Luna handed over a bar of soap. “If you’re going to put your hands on me, you might as well make yourself useful.”
“Gladly,” I said, eager for any excuse to keep my hands on her. I lathered the bar and dragged my hands over her body, starting with her breasts, kneading them as I did. Luna groaned and leaned back into my touch, her head against my chest and eyes closed as I played with her, moving one hand down the flat plane of her stomach to touch the sensitive flesh between her legs.
She squirmed against me as I dragged a finger through her flesh.
“I’m still sore,” she whispered loud enough for me to hear her over the sound of the water pouring over us.
I nipped her ear. “Want me to stop?”
Her hand banded around my wrist. “Don’t stop.”
I didn’t stop until after she screamed my name, as if it were a prayer on her lips.
CHAPTER39
Luna
We sweptpast the security guard and into the gallery in SoHo. In the last few months, it had become the place for up-and-coming artists, Faith Waters included. From what Beck relayed to me, it was quite the madhouse the first time Faith showed here. Thankfully, this time there weren't any paparazzi stalking my best friend outside.
I bounced on my heels. “I can't wait to find Faith. She's been a nervous wreck all week even though she has no reason to be.”
Her work was stunning, and she had a wait-list a mile long. And she knew it.
I expected everything to go off without a hitch, but even someone as talented as Faith could get nervous before a big launch. Especially when the unveil was something as personal and vulnerable as art.
My phone buzzed in the pocket of my skirt. I winced but looked at the screen anyway.
Parvati
You've been missing out on the progress this week. We have some decisions to make, and I want you here in person for them.
Luna
I'll be there in the morning. Darnell assured me the car is gassed up and ready to go.
Parvati
Tell D I'm going to have a coffee ready for him.
Luna
D???
Since when do YOU call Darnell D?
How did I miss this?
Parvati
Since you decided to go above and beyond schmoozing all the inspectors after their last visit. D and I had a good chat while you were preoccupied.
