Moose laughed. “Gonna take the baby too?”
Piper cooed at Avy. “Of course I would take this princess.”
“No, Moose. We have work to do and the kids get out of school soon.”
He winked at me. “I can make it quick.”
“No. Let me pack my things up and we can go. Piper, take the rest of the day off. I think Luna needs help in her shop if you wanna head over there.”
“Yes! That girl is a fucking beast with redoing furniture. See you in the morning, boss lady.”
Moose took Avy from me as I cleaned up the office and packed my bags. Once I was done, we made sure everything was locked up before heading out and setting the final alarm.
I leaned on my toes and softly kissed Moose. “Let’s go get our other babies and go home. I can’t wait to just sit on the couch and cuddle.”
Wewereallinthe kitchen making dinner when my cell rang. Swiping across, Javier’s face popped up on my screen.
Maddox smiled and waved. “Hey, Uncle J!”
Javier smiled. “Hey, buddy? Doing good in school?”
“Always! When are you guys coming here again? We miss you.”
Nova hip bumped her brother out of the way. “Look, Uncle J! Mommy let me wear lip gloss to school today.”
Javier laughed. “You’re getting so big, baby. I miss you all so much. Can I talk to your mom?”
I playfully pushed past both kids with Avy in my arms while Moose leaned over me. Javier waved at all of us.
“My homies are getting so big! I also have some big news and wanted to tell you guys…. I met somebody. She’s amazing. I think she’s the one, Lil.”
“That’s great! You should bring her out for Thanksgiving!”
Moose nodded behind me. “Plenty of room! That’s great, man. So fucking happy for you.”
Javier couldn’t stop smiling. “I’ll do that! You guys should come out on summer break. We can hit the beaches and set up some more of your sweet security, homie.”
“Sounds good, brother. We’ll put the plans into action. Shoot me a text and I’ll put the order in now.”
I blew a kiss. “Tell Mama I said hi. And we will come out for summer break. I miss you all so much.”
“The wholefamiliamisses you, Lil. I’ll text you both.”
As Javier hung up, I turned and leaned up to kiss Moose.
“I love this. All of this. I get my old family and my new family all in one.”
“I thought it would be weird, but I’m really happy, princess.”
Nova hugged me from behind. “I love it too. What do you need us to do, mom?”
“Why don’t you and your brother set the table? Hawk and Sav are coming over for dinner, so make sure you have a spot for them.”
Just as Nova grabbed the plates, the door opened and Hawk and Sav came in, plates in hand. Sav had branched out with the diner and did some small catering jobs. She was bringing over her new dessert for us to try.
I placed Avy in her high chairs as we all got to work getting our dinner on the table. Hawk and Sav slipped right into place; we all fit perfectly together.
Once we were all sitting, the door opened again and Thor came walking in. He looked upset and Moose was up right away.
