He hangs up and leans down on the table. “Lilah... she’s in the hospital. I need to go now. Doc called, and it’s not good.”

The three of us rush out the door. I stop at Bambi and Willow.

“Lilah is in the hospital...”

Bambi picks up Ophelia and Willow grabs Bodhi. We all run outside and the women load the kids into the car as Maverick and I climb onto our bikes.

Striker is already gone, not waiting for anybody. Maverick goes first on his bike, and I follow behind his black truck that Willow is driving. We rush through town to the medical center.

We almost lost Lilah once, so anytime she gets hurt, we all panic. As we pull into the medical center, Striker’s motorcycle is parked haphazardly right at the front.

I wait until Willow parks and help get Bambi and the kids out. Maverick grabs his little man and Willow straps Ophelia into a baby backpack thing.

Walking into the medical center, it’s eerily quiet. It makes me fucking nervous as we walk up the stairs and closer to the ER rooms.

I can see the nurses huddled together and walk up to them.

“Where is she? What’s going on?”

Doc comes out of a room and looks in our direction. Making his way over, he brings us to a small waiting area.

“Fucking spill it, Doc. What’s wrong with my baby sister?”

Doc takes a deep breath, “Lilah had a miscarriage. But it’s a bad one. She’s hemorrhaging and will need blood transfusions.”

Willow kisses the top of Ophelia’s head. “What does she need right now? Where are the boys and Scarlett?”

“Mama Crawford has them right now. Thankfully Lilah was at work when this happened, so she could get medical attention right away.”

Bambi cries, and I pull her into me. Striker comes out of the room and walks toward us.

“Fuck...”

Maverick pulls him into a hug, and the rest of us join in. Bambi places her hand on his cheek and looks toward Lilah’s room.

“How is she? Don’t sugarcoat it.”

“Not good. She can’t leave, she needs blood. Fuck! How did I not know she was pregnant?”

I pat him on the back, “Brother, it happens. She’s in good hands and will be okay. What do you need from us?”

Striker sits down in one of the chairs and lets his face fall into his hands. “I don’t fucking know. I feel like I can’t breathe.”

Bambi kneels down and taps his knee to get his attention. “Deep breaths, Levi. We’ll take care of the kids. Mav and Goose can handle the club. You stay here and take care of your wife as long as you need to.”

He just nods as Bambi helps him up and walks to Lilah’s room. She whispers something into his ear, then turns to walk back to us.

Willow hugs her and then turns to Maverick. “Let’s get our babies home. If you need anything, Bambi, just let me know. We’re down the road.”

The women hug again, and Bambi turns to me. “Could I have a ride?”

“I’ll help you, Bambi. The twins listen to their Uncle Goose and my princess loves me.”

She softly laughs and takes my hand in hers.

“Okay, let’s go then.”

We walk past the nurses’ station and I stop to talk to them.
