"Please have a seat in my office, Ms. Sanchez."
Huh. So we're back to Ms. Sanchez.Pen and pad in hand, I follow him inside and shut the door behind me.
"Henry, you probably scared Jeremy to death. He was—"
"In the office, you will address me as Mr. Park."
The iciness in his tone lets me know this isn't playful banter, and I bite back my sarcastic reply.
"Of course, Mr. Park."
"I asked you in here," he begins, walking around his desk and taking a seat, "to clear the air about last week."
Oh, this oughta be good.I take a seat in one of the armchairs in the sitting area.
"Clear the air?"
"Yes. What happened last week was wildly inappropriate and it won't be happening again."
My shoulders sag the tiniest bit.
"I see."
"As you know, I have rules about interoffice relationships. Rules that have served me well for many years."
So he gets to put his tongue down my throat, squeeze my tits, and then on Monday there arerules? Well, I've certainly heard enough.I click my pen closed and stand.
"I understand, Mr. Park. There's no need to discuss it further. Will that be all?"
For a split second, he looks surprised before quickly smoothing his features. He clearly expected an argument. I don't dare give him the satisfaction. I'll beg him to reconsider the same day I'm crowned the next Queen of England.
"Yes. That will be all. Thank you, Ms. Sanchez."
I'm out of his office before my name has finished passing his lips, slamming the door a bit too hard and stomping to my desk.
The nerve of that guy!He thinks he can kiss me and touch me and then just say forget it?Fuck him, and fuck BBS&P!
Back at my desk, I pull up my calendar. No more meetings today.Perfect.
I rage-file the pile of client documents sitting on my desk, snatch up my purse, and fly down the hallway to the elevator. I ignore the strange looks the other paralegals give me and jam the down button. A wise bystander senses my dark mood and opts to take the next elevator down.
The doors close and I hurriedly type out a text.
Sub Zero
I'm sorry, Mr. Park. But I think I am coming down with something. There are no more meetings today, so I'm taking the afternoon off to rest. I hope to be back tomorrow.
I don't wait for a response and dial the top number in my favorites. She answers after one ring and I talk over her greeting.
"Rory? Where are you? I got the afternoon off and I'm coming to surprise you on set."
"I love you, Jess. I think I've always loved you, even when we fought. Even when I pushed you away. We were meant to be."
The dashing brunette actor pours his heart out to a leggy blonde while a rain machine mists the entire set. I roll my eyes. What a load of bullshit.
"I knew if I waited long enough, you would realize. Knew you would finally see me."
Finally see you? Why wouldn't a guy see a woman who looks like she could be on the cover of Vanity Fair? This is so unrealistic.
