“Why wouldn’t he tell her that?”
“Never got to that part,” he said, shaking his head. “We went by their place. He wanted to use Finn and me as a buffer, but she had another man there.”
Oh no.
There was a lot you could get away with when it came to O’Sullivan men but cheating wasnotone of them.
“Didn’t end well, I’m assuming…” I brushed my fingers over his chest, outlining the shape of my inked lips. “Let’s get matching tattoos.”
I lifted my gaze just as he said, “Not after he learned she’s pregnant. And yeah, baby, I’ll get some matching ink with you.”
Pregnant?
“Shit Zi,” I mumbled. “Why she have to go and do that?”
He nodded.
“My thoughts exactly but that ain’t our business outside of being there for Tadhg when he asks for it. They might work it out.”
I doubted that.
“What if I cheated? Would you forgive me?”
“Sure would,” he said without pause. “After I killed everything moving and locked you away.”
Despite how serious I knew he was, laughter bubbled out of me as I secured my arms around his neck.
“Never thought of it, Oisin,” I whispered, closing my eyes and touching my forehead to his. “Have you? Did you?”
“There was this…”
I leaned back like he’d slapped me, only to find an amused smile on his face
“Don’t play with me like that.”
He got out of bed with me still attached to him.
“You mean too much to me to ever fuck this up,” he said, walking into the bathroom and setting me on the counter. “Been beating women off with a stick since we committed, even when we made everyone think we weren’t together all these years.”
I shook my head, knowing he wasn’t lying about that at all.
“Pretty sure, Mr. Everwood left us a shipping container of vacuum sealed marijuana as a gift.”
He cut the shower on and adjusted the temperature before turning to face me.
“It’d been sitting for three months.”
“So, he definitely had this planned for a while,” I surmised, sliding off the counter and pulling my thong and bra off. “What do you guys plan on doing with it?”
“Shipping it to our distro center to be analyzed before stocking the dispensaries.”
I slipped past him and into the rising steam, watching as he dropped the one article of clothing from his body and followed me inside.
“You believe me when I say it’s only been you all these years, right?”
He cornered me against the shower wall, brows pinched as if he were worried.
“I believe you, Oisin…” I smiled up at him and tipped my head. “Switch places with me.”
