Her lips parted. “I’m not sure I understand.”
I relished the idea I’d caught her by surprise. “You came to me, Chloe, and asked me to train you. I’ve done what I said I would. Now, going further, with anyone, is always your decision. Never forget that as the sub, you hold the ultimate power in the palm of your pretty little hands.” Along with my heart and soul. “I’m asking for your choice, here and now. We walk away and you can leave with Bennett tonight, or you can stay here, with me.”
I didn’t tack on the forever. We’d get to that later, too.
The clock hanging in the kitchen seemed to tick and tock forever while she slipped her bottom lip between her teeth. The fact she had to actually think about this sent a chill down my spine.
She exhaled slowly. Tucking hair behind her ear again, she grinned at me hesitantly. “Haven’t you been listening to me, sir? It’s always been you.”
Bennett stood up. “It’s a shame,” he murmured, walking toward her. When he reached her, he drifted a fingertip down her cheek. “I would have enjoyed playing with you.”
To her credit, she didn’t pull her gaze away from me, even when he leaned in and kissed her temple. I arched a brow, almost daring her to respond in some way but the only movement she gave was a dipping of her gaze from mine as he whispered in her ear.
Without another word, only a smirk tossed at me as he headed toward the door, he left my house, encasing us in silence.
“So,” Chloe said after several moments. “What happens now?”
I stood and moved to her, took her hand in mine and pulled her to her feet. Level to my chin, even with her massive heels on, she was still so small.
I brushed my hand through her hair and cupped the back of her neck. “Now, we play. And later, we discuss the future. You ready, Little Bird?”
“Always, sir.”
I let my hand go and stepped back, giving her space to maneuver around me. “Good. Then I want you to go to my room and get naked. Kneel next to the bed and present yourself.”
