Exavier arched a dark brow. “Really?”

Karlon nodded and moved closer to Pravat. “I’ll help him. We might even turn our heads the next time something comes a callin’, wanting to challenge your sorry royal ass.” He nudged Pravat. “As his head warriors, we should really be permitted to hit him every time he does something stupid.”

“You better turn your heads if something comes at me. Your attention better be on Lindsay. She is to be—”

“Protected with our lives,” they said in unison, not one sounding upset with the idea.

”You do realizeyou’re all going to have to cram into Exavier’s SUV, right?”

They all nodded. Exavier held my hand firmly and pulled me around in a half-circle to face him. He was still in the black leather pants and mesh top and I was still thinking about him buried deep in me. “I love you.”

“You’ve said that about a million times in the last hour. Now give me the keys. You four aren’t driving anything, anywhere. I cannot believe you polished off another bottle after the shoot. Why?”

“Hey, I only had one more bottle. Pravat had three. Yell at him.”

Pravat baulked. “We were celebrating the two of you being married. And since jackass doesn’t want us to give him a proper bachelor party, we had to settle for drinking in the fake graveyard.”

“We are not married,” I murmured under my breath.

“Then you should be,” Pravat said. “That baby needs the protection of a mated unit.”

I rolled my eyes and shook my head. “Xavs, you have the weirdest friends.”

“What did you say, Pravat?” Exavier asked, instantly sobering.

“Just that you’re gonna be a daddy.”

“This isn’t funny.” Anger bubbled just under the surface, waiting for a chance to strike out at Pravat for his sick sense of humor. “I can’t have children.”

“Well, you mean you couldn’t have them. When I touched you to see if you were bonded to Exavier earlier, I sensed the struggle your body was going through to accept his seed, so I fixed it. Consider it my wedding gift to the two of you.”

“Exavier, tell him this isn’t funny. I mean it. One, he can’t heal a scarred uterus. No one can. And for anything to be in there we would have to have had sex before that. We did not.”

“Linds, Pravat wouldn’t lie about something as important as this. And if anyone could heal that, it’s him. His father is a Fae god of fertility. If he’s sure you’re with child, then you are.”

“But, no…we…” It hit me then. The dream. “It wasn’t just a dream.”

“No, Linds. It wasn’t a dream.” He watched me closely as I let it all sink in. “Please don’t be upset with me. You seemed shocked after we mated and I couldn’t stand the thought of you having no choice but to tie yourself to me because of your fear of them taking me. I couldn’t. I love you too much. I cleaned up and waited to see how you would react. Don’t be upset with me. Please, baby, I’ll do anything. Please.”

“Umm, is it me or is our prince groveling?” Karlon asked, laughing slightly.

Eion smacked him in the back of the head. “Shut up. Let him finish his groveling. I’m enjoying it. Oh, and congrats on the baby. I want to be its godfather.”

I locked gazes with him and couldn’t stop the tears that came rushing at me. Eion’s eyes widened. “Okay, I’ll settle for being allowed to visit? Don’t cry.”

Exavier took me in his arms and held me tight. “Shh, it’s okay, baby. This is meant to be and he will most certainly be our child’s godfather. Don’t do this to yourself, Linds. Don’t.”

“I’m not upset, Xavs. I’m happy. These are good tears. Really good tears.”

He let out a deep breath. “You’re not mad we’re married and—” he touched my stomach, “—expecting?”

I slapped his cheek once for good measure and then kissed it. “I love you so much.”

“Mmm, and I love you, even if you spend eternity kicking my ass.”

“Aww, isn’t that sweet,” Eion said, laughing.

“Shutup. Just wait until you all find your mates. Lindsay and I will love picking on you all.”
