“Son, so nice that you are back home,” Dad says as he walks over to me and pulls me into an awkward hug. I don’t bother hugging him back.

He pats me on the back before pushing past me into the warehouse.

“What are you doing here?”

“Just wanted to come get on the merchandise that is being stored here. Need to make sure inventory matches our records.” He nonchalantly replies as his eyes scan the area, only stopping when he sees the open door upstairs.

My hackles instantly rise. Hating that he is inadvertently staring at my girl. I know he knows she is here. Her car is still parked out front. Ryker and Axel also notice the open door and stare at it like predators hunting for dinner.

“Shouldn’t you go and check then?” I ask, hoping to distract them enough.

“Yes, son,” Dad replies coldly.

He nods his head to the other two, and they walk down the hall towards the storage area they took over. Over the last few days, I have wanted to just burn everything. Make sure they couldn’t push that Z shit on the streets, but decided against it. I can only imagine how pissed they would be and what they would do in retaliation. I wouldn’t take the chance of them doing anything to Serena. So for now, it sits there until I can come up with a better plan.

When the heavy metal door clanks behind them, I run up the stairs towards the room. Odin, Zeus, and Serena are all still asleep, so peacefully. I want to let them sleep, but I need to get Serena out of here before they see her.

I smack Odin on the back of the head, instantly waking him. I mouth that our dads are here and he jumps out of bed. He rushes to the other side of the bed to wake Zeus while I gently nudge Serena awake.

Her pale green eyes slowly start to show as she wakes. I give her the most loving smile I can, which she returns. I press my lips against her, needing to feel them against mine again. She is a drug I never want to quit.

“Yeah, angel. I thought you might want to go into town with Odin and Zeus to get some breakfast and coffee.”

At the mention of coffee, she perks right up. She throws the blanket off herself, revealing her naked body. The three of us groan at the sight, and as much as I want to repeat last night, we don’t have time.

I rush around the room, picking her clothes up from last night before handing them to her. She dutifully takes them and gets dressed. Once she is fully clothed, I place my hand on her lower back and lead her out of the room and down the stairs. I check over my shoulder, making sure our dads aren’t coming out of the storage room. We make it to the door when my dad calls out.

“Serena.” She goes stiff in my arms at his voice. A protective urge courses through me, hating that she is suddenly so uncomfortable. “It’s so good to see you, dear.”

His footsteps get closer to us. The four of us turn around and face the trio of evil. Their eyes are focused on Serena, completely ignoring us.

“It’s nice to see you too.” She replies, trying to be civil even if she is beyond nervous.

“This is perfect timing, actually. We were just about to tell the boys about the New Year's Eve party at the clubhouse tonight.” He looks at me finally. “Attendance is mandatory.” His eyes go back to Serena. “You should come too. It will be a lot of fun.”

“That’s very generous, but…”

“I insist.”

Serena nods her head, wanting this conversation to be over. Dad claps his hands as if he just heard the best news in the world. He doesn’t say anything else as he and the others walk out.

I kiss Serena on the head before chasing after my dad, wanting to tell him off and that she won’t be attending tonight. I promised myself she would never have to set foot in that place again, and that is a promise I intend to keep.

After everything those slimy sleazeballs have done to her, I won’t make her share the same air with them again if I can stop it. I catch up to them as they get to their motorcycles.

“Serena won’t be attending tonight.” I keep my voice neutral, not wanting to upset them but needing them to know I mean what I say.

Dad turns around to face me. Gone is the pleasant face he had for Serena, and in its place is the face he has when he is about to kill someone.

He takes a step towards me, wanting to intimidate me. But that doesn’t work anymore. It hasn’t in a long time.

“That’s not up to you.” Dad pokes my chest. “She will be there.” Another poke. “Or there will be consequences. Ones that you won’t like but she will hate you forever for.”

With those words, he turns, mounts his bike, and takes off.

After our dads left, we tried to come up with a plan to keep Serena away, but in the end, she decided to go. She didn’t want to take a chance that anything would happen to us if we disobeyed my dad. But it’s not me that I am worried about, it’s her. Being in the clubhouse after whatever our dads did to her the last time we were there happens again, I would go on a murder spree.

I also have the selfish reason that I don’t want her near that fucking prospect. After he fucked up so badly and shot her, he is on thin ice. If he says one word to her tonight, he is dead meat. I don’t care about the consequences. I need that secret to go to the grave. She and the guys can never find out.
