I have been impatiently waiting for weeks for new information on the Kings. Sadly, my main informant has been lacking in that department. My second informant is a member of the MC. He used to be able to get all the information I needed on them, except for the one piece that I desperately craved. A way to once and for all take down Zane, Ryker, and Axel. And the third is as useless as shoes on a fish.
I sit in the driver’s seat of my car outside of King’s Garage. The final week of summer, and the heat is still extreme. Thank God for AC. The sky is clear, the sun shining, and birds singing in the background. It would almost seem like a Disney movie if I weren’t staring at the demons right now.
I know I shouldn’t be here -they would kill me without hesitation if I were spotted- but I need something. Anything I could use to get to them.
Zane, Ryker, and Axel stroll outside and sit down on a wooden picnic table. They still look the same even after all these years. Hair is still the same color as it has always been on them. No lines or wrinkles on their faces. Nothing to show the devils that they are to the world. Age hasn’t affected them. Neither has karma yet, but I will see that it does.
I still remember that night so vividly. It haunts my dreams. They took everything from me, and I plan on returning the favor tenfold.
Each looking happier than the last as they drink beer and smoke. Ryker tips his head back, laughing at whatever Zane just said. Even Axel, the stoic one, has a smile on his lips. They shouldn’t be allowed to live life the way they have and still be so fucking happy.
The three of them have been my worst nightmare that I haven’t been able to vanquish yet, but it is the only thing I strive for. I need to figure out what they have been up to lately, seeing as they have kept a very low profile in the last couple of years.
From the information I have gathered, their sons have been the ones to do the dirty work for them. If my suspicions are correct on what the club has been getting up to lately, that makes Midas, Odin, and Zeus just as guilty as their fathers.
I pick up my phone and dial my second informant. It doesn’t take long for him to answer.
“What do you want?” His tone was bored, but on edge. I noticed he didn’t say my name like he normally does. He must be around the others and doesn’t want them to know it’s me.
The desire to make this harder for him rides me, but if I want the information I seek, I need to be friendly. Or, as friendly as I can be with this betrayer.
“Zeus, always a pleasure. I need some information.” I quip back.
I watched as the pretty young blonde girl, who instantly stole my attention when she walked into this restaurant, left with her friend. Her dress sways with each step she takes. She is the most beautiful girl I have ever seen. Shy and quiet, but that made me want her more. A sweet little girl who needs someone to corrupt her.
I continue staring at the door long after she has left, wanting to follow her.
“Rocco,” I call out.
Rocco, one of my enforcers, is in his forties and has been a part of the Brotherhood since he was a teen. He worked for my father before me. Rocco rushes over and stands before me. His short black hair is slicked back, and his brown eyes are focused.
“I want you to follow that girl. Make sure no one bothers her and take care of everything while she is in town.”
Rocco’s eyes go wide, clearly surprised that I ordered that. To be honest, so am I. I have never been the one to care, especially with someone I don’t know. But there is something about that girl that intrigues me. I can’t put my finger on it.
Yet.
Rocco clears his face before he nods his head and starts to walk out the front door. The door closes behind him.
My phone annoyingly starts vibrating in my coat pocket. I took my eyes off the door for the first time and looked at the text Valerie sent me. The latest information on the Kings. At least the bitch is finally doing her job.
New information about the girl the Kings are interested in. She told me a couple of weeks ago about them vying for the attention of the new girl in school, but Valerie vainly said she would handle it. I’m guessing she couldn’t handle it and needs me to step in.
I read the information, and at the end is a picture of her. The smile I had dropped when I looked at the picture of the girl that just left my restaurant. Serena. Of course, those assholes are interested in the girl I want.My fucking luck.
A plan starts to form in my head. I hate to use her to get a small slice of revenge, but overall, it would work for me.
My phone starts ringing, and I answer without looking at who is calling.
“So, are you going to deal with that bitch?” I groan when I hear her annoying, shrill voice.
She is one of my least favorite people to deal with. Just because her uncle works for me, she has concluded that I am at her constant disposal. The number of times she has called me to “deal” with someone she doesn’t like is obscene.
Sure, I have done it a few times because they are also people I want to deal with, but she thinks I will solve all her problems in life. I have let her slide, for now, because she can be useful, but I’m starting to think I will have to deal with her myself one day.
“Valerie, it's always a pleasure to talk to you.” I quip back, already losing my patience with her.
