Don’t pretend like you don’t love it angel

The following week,I was standing at the oversized window with my arms crossed in front of me waiting for his blacked out Mercedes to come into view. He’d texted me last night letting me know he’d be here by seven thirty, so here I was dressed and ready for his arrival. I’d tried to pry more information out of him on what was going on when he snuck over to my place after he’d seen his friends, but instead of giving me any answers he just gave me an orgasm, which I wasn’t too upset about.

When I saw his car pull up, I threw my Louis Vuitton duffle over my shoulder and started to walk out to his car. My key was half turned in the lock of my front door when I heard his deep as the ocean voice call out to me.

“What the hell do you think you’re doing? Get back inside, now.” I turned towards him slowly, immediately annoyed.Who the hell does he think he is to talk to me like that?

“Excuse me?” I snapped, dropping my duffle to my side and putting a hand on my now popped hip. He continued walking towards me with a purpose, crossing the wide sidewalk in long strides.

“I said, get back inside.Now.” He was standing in front of me now and reaching for the doorknob I hadn’t gotten a chance to lock. Reaching behind me, he turned the knob, gently pushed me inside, protesting as he did, and closed the door between us. I stood staring at the back of the door from just inside my condo, wholly confused by what the fuck just happened. Before I couldreact or call him a name or throw the door open to give him a piece of my mind, he knocked twice. I shook my head to myself in shock and swung the door open again, ready to give him the what for.

“Good morning flower, I’m here to pick you up,” he said in the sweetest, kindest voice, as if he hadn’t just yelled at me. I blinked at him slowly, finding it hard to process what the hell just happened.

“I’m sorry, what?” I looked at him in disbelief.

“Got everything you need? Here, let me take that for you.” He went to reach for my duffle but I pulled it away with an ‘ah!’ and took a step away from him.

“Explain yourself. What the hell was all that for? Why’d you yell at me to get back inside?” I tossed my bag onto the floor and crossed my arms in front of me again, defensively this time. He dropped his chin and took a step towards me. Unable to tell him no, I let him wrap his big arms around my waist and pull me into him. I tipped my chin up to look at him just like I always had to do.

“My girl never comes out before I come to her door first.” He leaned over and pressed his lips to the side of my throat sending a wave of desire down my spine. “It’s the gentlemanly thing to do, the polite thing to do.” He smirked at me for a moment before bringing his lips to the other side of my neck. I dug my nails into his wrists as he lightly nipped at the sensitive skin behind my ear.

“Wait a minute, so you’re telling me you made all that fuss just so you could come and get me from my door?” He pulled away from me and chuckled as he nodded his head. “I can’t believe you! I thought I’d done something wrong or you were mad at me.” I balled up my fingers to give him a playful punch on the arm which he put his hands up to deflect before pullingme into him again. We were both laughing at the absurdity of the interaction.

“I’m sorry, I won’t do it again. But for real, don’t ever just come out. Let me come get you, okay?”

“If it means that much to you, I promise to make you come all the way to my door and knock a bunch of times before I come out.” I rolled my eyes at him but felt the butterflies taking flight in my belly.

“Thank you.” He kissed my cheek and took a step back. “Alright, for real, do you have everything?” He picked up my bag and held it up as if to make sure that’s all I was bringing with me.

“Yep, everything’s in there.”

“Good,” he started, taking my hand and opening the front door again. “Because we have a plane to catch.”

KOLBI

It had taken a few weeks to organize and plan, and another small bonus in Kendall’s paycheck to get her to stop asking questions about who she was booking a trip for, to get to this moment right now.

The one where I get to witness the utter disbelief and surprise on Magnolia’s face as she walked into the suite I had booked for us, her bag falling to the floor with a thud as she took in the mountains and small village that surrounded the resort. It was the last few days of March and still snowy on this side of the country and thankfully for me, a fresh powder had just fallen the night before we arrived. Her eyes were wide and round as she turned towards me, completely stunned by where we were. I thought seeing her board the private jet I chartered for us to get here was good but this was better.

“Kolbi…” she started as I walked towards her with a proud grin. “What–why–how?” It was as if she couldn’t decide which question best fit the wonderings that were swirling around her head.

“I’d remembered you telling me that you’ve always wanted to come here, so I brought you.” I took her dainty hand in mine and pulled her further into the room and closer to the three oversized windows that looked out onto a private view of the mountain. From where our hotel room sat, we could look out and see the peaks and valleys of the snow covered rock, but no one could see us. The tinted window and height of the resort made sure of that. She looked up at me and blinked a few times before setting her sights on the view.

“But work? You’re always talking about how busy you are.”

I cupped her face in my hand and rubbed my thumb across her round cheek before shrugging.

“I had Kendall clear my calendar and I knew you wouldn’t need to be anywhere for your father’s campaign over the next few days. It’s not a big deal. I’d rather spoil you with a weekend away than sit at my desk any day.” Her shoulders dropped as I pressed a kiss into her forehead and was rewarded with a happy ‘hmph’ from her.

“I didn’t pack for cold weather though,” she worried. “When you said ‘pack a bag’ I just assumed we’d be holing up in your house for a few days. I didn’t really pack a ton of real clothes if I’m being honest…” Her cheeks turned a distinct shade of red as she dropped her chin, avoiding my glance. I leaned over, forcing her to look at me, and got the sense she had something she wasn’t sharing with me.

“What the hell did you pack then?”

Pressing her tongue into the side of her cheek, she spoke in the smallest voice. “Really just lingerie and pretty underwear….” Her wide eyes swooped up to look at me and I barked out a laugh.

“You only packed lingerie and pretty underwear? Are you for real?”
