But my brothers hadn’t touched her since they brought Mila home, and I had been so caught up in my own feelings on the matter, I didn’t see her.

I didn’t have any interest now, and it seemed they didn’t either.

Maverick said something to her that made her eyes flash with anger before she schooled her features back to normal.

Maverick and Silas walked to the office, leaving Zoe behind.

I looked up at them when they entered. “What was that about?”

Maverick shrugged. “She’s getting us drinks.”

I raised one eyebrow at that. “Judging by her expression, you really trust whatever drinks she places in front of us?”

Silas chuckled and shook his head. “Nah, but that’ll get her to leave us alone for a while.”

“Or we can just fire her,” I commented.

We’d kept her around because she wasn’t clingy, and she knew what she was doing in the sack. But we didn’t owe her any loyalty and had never made any promises to her beyond a good time. The minute she started to grow clingy was the minute I found her usefulness gone.

“That’s cold, even for you,” Silas commented.

“Or you can just take her up on her offer,” I replied.

He didn’t answer me. Instead, he walked up to the black leather couch pushed against one wall and rested his feet on the one-thousand-dollar glass coffee table.

I narrowed my eyes at him.

He sighed and sat up straight. “I don’t fucking know why you decorated this place with expensive shit when they would get ruined sooner or later.”

“By you?”

He grinned. “I could bring Mila here, and we’d make good use of everything.”

Maverick shook his head. “Better than just giving her a vibrator and leaving her alone.”

I glared at him.

Silas laughed. “No shit. He did that?” He turned to me. “You did that?”

“I thought she might need a little help. The poor girl’s obviously not getting it from you,” I taunted.

“Oh, she gets plenty,” Silas said, not falling for it.

I shook my head. “What the hell do you want? It has become a common occurrence for you two to come by and annoy the crap out of me, and I don’t like it.”

Silas stood up. “Aww, we love you, too, big bro.”

I scowled at him. “If you come near me, I will throw you to the ground.”

He grinned. “I’d like to see you try.”

Zoe walked into the office without knocking. “I got all your favorite drinks,” she said, her voice high-pitched and headache-inducing.

I rubbed my temples.

I might be spending too much time in front of the computer screen.

I nodded when she placed a glass of scotch in front of me, though I didn’t touch it.
