“Good. Send in the team and start pouring gasoline.”
Dad was in charge of this club, but this mission was mine.
It was personal.
And I wasn’t going to stop until I fucking had Jude’s head.
The scent of gasoline filled the air.
I had already cut off the security cameras in the port, and we would move in and out of here before anyone could pin it on the King’s Men.
“All set,” one of the brothers said through the earpiece.
“Fall back,” I said.
Everyone who wasn’t carrying a pack fell back, heading to the cars, along with Blue. But he wasn’t going back with them. He was going to grab a motorboat and follow us out into the water.
Micah took control of the ship. We listened as it rumbled to life, and the anchor was pulled up before the ship slowly moved away from the port.
We had men on the lookout, but the port was busy enough that no one paid attention to the moving ship.
Everyone unpacked explosives from their bags when we’d sailed far enough from the port.
We placed them in every corner of the ship, and Blue waited at a distance.
We released the hook, setting the lifeboat into the water as Blue approached us in the motorboat.
Once the five of us—Dad, Roman, Micah, Blue, and I—were safely away, I clicked the remote for the explosives.
They went off with a boom.
I stood and watched as the ship quickly caught fire, and I hoped Jude fucking saw that.
I hoped he knew this was a present from the King’s Men—from me.
Come out, come out, wherever you are, you piece of shit.

There weretwo men I didn’t know in the apartment.
I shouldn’t mind that they were there since they’d been instructed to protect me while Kai and Blue went off to do what needed to be done, but there was something about having strangers here that made it hard for me to sleep.
It was close to four o’clock in the morning.
I had drifted off slightly when Kai left, but now I was wide awake, and Kai still wasn’t back. I wondered if everything had been a success for him.
I tried not to worry, but it was hard, especially since I still didn’t know how he was feeling right now.
I lifted my left hand.
I was lying on the bed, with the windows open to let the city light in.
I could just make out the sparkling diamond on my finger.
It didn’t feel real.
