I didn’t want to think about it because I could feel a slight wetness against the fabric of my panties.

I turned around and glared at him. He was full-on smiling at me, and I didn’t know what to do when he looked like this.

“Let me off,” I said.

He didn’t say anything for a moment, and I really thought he was going to keep me in this position for a while, risking Lucy walking in and seeing us, but he relaxed his hold on me, then helped me up so I was standing between his thighs.

Even like this, with him sitting in front of me, I wasn’t that much taller than him.

I had almost forgotten how big he was.

Today, he wore dark jeans, a white T-shirt, and a leather vest with the King’s Men logo. The vest was what people usually referred to as a biker’s cut, and, like everything he wore, he made it look good.

I could feel my lips going dry at the sight of him, and when I finally met his eyes, I stilled.

He was staring right at me.

Not for the first time, I found myself wondering what he really thought when he looked at me like that. What was it about me that he was so interested in? He spent most of his nights with me, so unless he had some godlike stamina and all the time in the world, I doubted he was also getting some with someone else. Though the thought made me feel a little… murderous.

I blinked, and that must have broken the spell because Dominic suddenly stood and grabbed my hand.

“Go put on some shoes, wildcat. I’m taking you out for lunch.”

“Really?” I asked, surprised and excited. The prospect of having lunch somewhere that wasn’t here was enough to get me moving without any hesitation or questions.

“Really,” he said. I ran up the stairs and into the closet. I looked around and finally picked out some black leather boots that would go well with my black leggings and white shirt, then hurried back down to where Dominic was waiting by the front door.

I smiled. “Ready.”

“Not yet,” he said, plopping the helmet on my head. I held still as he buckled it, then he held out a pair of sunglasses I hadn’t even noticed and put them on me.

“Perfect,” he replied, donning a pair of his own.

Without waiting for me to say anything, he grabbed my hand and led me out into the blazing sunshine. His bike was parked in front of the house, and though I had been on it twice before, there was something intimidating about seeing it in the light of day.

I tugged on Dominic’s hand, and he looked back at me.

“All right, wildcat?”

It was on the tip of my tongue to say no, to ask him if he had other means of transportation. Surely a man with his money would have more than just a motorcycle. At the last moment, I changed my mind. I had been on the bike before. There was no reason to be so nervous.

He squeezed my hand. Like last time, he climbed on first and started the bike before holding out his hand to me. I ignored how loud the engine was and climbed on, sliding close to him until I was pressed against his back, and there wasn’t an inch of space separating us.

He wrapped my arms tightly around his middle and took off without warning.

I squealed, and I couldn’t be sure, but I thought I heard him chuckle at that.

The wind blew my hair, and I closed my eyes for the first five minutes. Somehow, this ride was much scarier in the daytime than it was at night.

Then he came to a stop at a streetlight, and I peeked my eyes open.

It was still scary but in an exciting kind of way.

Like riding a roller coaster but not as bumpy, and Dominic was close by.

I tightened my arms around him but kept my eyes open. The sunglasses were a smart idea. They took some of the impact of the wind.

I didn’t really care where we went. I was enjoying this little bit of freedom now.
