ANDI

The field is buzzing with energy as the Crystal Bay football players complete their warm-up. With the bowl game only a few days away, us cheerleaders will practice alongside them until we leave for Arizona. It feels good to be back, but I’d be lying to say I didn’t wish I was still in a certain coach’s bed.

I pull my arm across my body, trying to get loose, while my eyes drift to the sidelines where Porter stands, arms folded and a clipboard in his hand. Why must he always look so damn sexy?I curse myself for being weak as flashbacks of the last few days pound through my head. I taunted him about being unable to forget our attraction, but it’s the first day back, and all I can think about are his hands on my waist, nails digging in as he—

“Helllloooo!” Fingers snap in front of my face. “Earth to Andi!”

I shake my head to refocus on the present and see Stella’s smiling face.

“Well, hey there, stranger,” I say, pulling her in for a big hug. “I was wondering if you were gonna make it.”

“Yeah, our flight got delayed, so we came straight from the airport,” she says, looking toward the field. “I’m sure Theo’s gonna get in some deep shit for that.”

“Who knows,” I say. “Maybe Coach will be a little lenient since it’s the first day back.”

“Unlikely,” Stella says with a laugh, starting her warm-up stretch. “So are you gonna tell me about him?”

Was my staring too obvious?

“About who?” I ask casually.

“Are you kidding me?” Stella scoffs. “You’re really gonna hold out on me?”

“Sorry, it’s been a long week, you’re gonna have to be more specific.”

She lowers her voice to a whisper. “How about the fact you wereKnox’ingboots with Kensington Knox!”

“That’s hearsay.” I smirk.

“Oh, come on.” Stella rolls her eyes. “I saw the article. Please tell me he helped you mark off ‘Blow Santa’?”

“I plead the fifth.”

“Since when are you so stingy with the sexy details?” she whines.

“Fine,” I concede, knowing Knox and Porter agreed to let it be the cover story. “Knox may have helped me complete an item or two off my list.”

“Oh my god, I knew it!” she squeals. “How was he? Does he bang as good as he blocks?”

“Better,” I tell her honestly, heat pooling between my thighs at the thought.

“You’re so lucky.” She sighs.

“So what about you? What was your final tally?”

“You first,” she insists.

“I completed the entire Merry Mischief List except for one.”

“Phew! Me too,” she says with a laugh. “Let me guess, you couldn’t block Olivia?”

“Idefinitelyblocked her,” I say pointedly.I haven’t thought about her in days.“It was the elf licking whipped cream thing.”

“What? That was easy! I did it on the first day.”

I shrug. “Something got in the way. What didn’t you complete?”

She twists her mouth. “Take a wild guess.”
