“You almost passed out carryingher?” Elijah scoffs in disbelief. “Damn, you’re a bigger pussy than I thought.” Seth's face turns beet red as Elijah turns his attention to Jonathan. “And shouldn’t you go check on your girlfriend, Jonny boy? Make sure she’s okay?”
“Her gag reflex is embarrassing. I’m sure she’s having no problem pumping her stomach in there,” Jonathan says before downing whatever’s left in his cup.
When did he become such a dickwad?
“Wow… I think you two have been spending too much time with each other,” I snap at Jonathan. “You’re turning into an even bigger prick than him.” I shoot dagger eyes at Seth.
“Thanks for the compliment, baby girl.” Seth smirks at me before flicking his gaze to Elijah.
“Call her baby all you want,” Elijah tells Seth calmly. “We both know whose name she’ll be screaming later.” A small laugh escapes me, and I immediately regret it after noticing Seth’s expression.
It’s his“I’m about to whip some ass”face.
In the ten months we were together, he was in seven different fights. He won all of them, thanks to his brawn not his brain, and I have no desire to see how he would fare against half of CBU’s offensive line.
I glance down at Seth’s clenched fists. He takes a step towards us, but I’m partially in front of Elijah since his arm is still protectively slung around my shoulders.
“I know her better than youeverwill,” Seth tells Elijah so icily I shiver, nauseated by the notion he’s probably right. There’re things I don’t think I’ll ever bring myself to tell Elijah. How can I?
He’ll think I’m a heartless monster.
Then he’ll leave.
Just like everyone does.
Elijah laughs and shakes his head. “Then you should know better than anyone how bad you fucked up losing her.”
“I’m not worried.” Seth smiles lazily. “Eventually you’ll figure out who she really is.” Seth’s gaze finds me, his fiery eyes a warning to keep my mouth shut. “Then you’ll be tossing her at my doorstep, begging me to take her pathetic ass.”
I can’t deal with this bullshit anymore. Seth’s attitude gives me whiplash. One minute he’s trying to get me back, and the next he’s talking about me like I’m the most awful person he’s ever met.
I’m so glad he’s not a part of my daily life anymore.
I wish he’d cease to exist completely.
“Seth, will you justleave?” I plead, looking into his bloodshot eyes. “And it’s obvious you don’t care how Charlie is,” I tell Jonathan. “So maybe you should both just go crawl back into whatever trash can you climbed out of.”
“I never said I didn’t care about Char,” Jonathan says, mock hurt.
“Actions speak louder than words.”
Seth laughs and shakes his head. “You know what?” He tilts his head. “Let’s play a little game of two truths and a lie right here. Let Elijah get to know hisgirlfrienda little better,” he mocks.
“How about we don’t and you go fuck yourself?” I smile sweetly.
Seth’s lips curve up into a sneer so sinister I physically shudder. “I’d rather fuck you instead.”
“I’d prefer not to be fucked by a Tic Tac, thanks,” I spit back.
“God, you’re such a bitch sometimes.”
My hand flies forward, the contents of my cup flying directly in his face.
“What the fuck?” Seth shouts as the blue concoction drips down his chin.
“I suggest you hit the road before the next thing thrown at your face is my fist.” Elijah’s voice is low and commanding. “And I won’t be gentle.”
“Come on,” Jonathan says, annoyed, tugging Seth away. “She’s not worth it.”
