“Alright, well, I don’t want it to be a total sausage fest like last time,” Theo chimes in. “Let’s invite some hot dog buns.”
“Dude, you’re ridiculous.” I release a breathy laugh, shaking my head. “Who’d you have in mind?”
“How about your girl and her cute friend?” Julian says.
“Which girl? Andi or Sophia?” Theo asks like the asshole he is.
“I haven't talked to Andi in a month.” I glare at him. “And you know she’s never beenmy girl. We’re casual.” I choose to avoid correcting that Sophia isn’t actually mine either.Yet.I’d rather the guys think it’s true so they won’t make a move.
“Mm-hmm,” Theo hums sarcastically.
“Okay, back to you,” I say, returning my attention to Julian. “Her ‘cute’ friend?”
“Yeah, Sage, the one with the purple hair.” He grins while nodding his head. “She has a smart little mouth I’d like to explore thoroughly.”
I let out a low, amused laugh. “How would you know?”
“You can learn a lot about people during a ten-minute Uber ride,” he says casually, gaining Theo and Noah’s attention.
I point a finger at him. “I knew that car looked familiar! What else did you learn about the girls?”
“Nothing I’m gonna tell you,” Julian replies, cracking open the beer and taking a swig.
“Come on. You’ll drink my beer but won’t tell me what you learned?”
“Nope, sorry,” he replies firmly. “Uber driver/rider confidentiality clause.”
“That is not a real fucking thing,” I deadpan, and he shrugs while smiling smugly. “So why should I invite Sage if you won’t tell me shit?”
His lips curl into a knowing grin. “You’re gonna invite her so your little sunflower actually comes.”
I roll my eyes, knowing he’s right, and pull out my phone. “Ugh. Fine.”
