Rafe turned to see that Layla was awake. He scowled. “I hope I didn’t wake you my darling.”

She smiled, her entire face going red. Now that he knew she loved the use of that word, he was going to use it at every opportunity he had. “No, I didn’t hear you at all. Who knew a wolf could tip-toe.”

“I think you’ll find we’re capable of so much more than you could have imagined.”

Layla giggled. “That’s for sure.”

Rafe moved slowly over to the bed, sitting on the edge of it. He stroked her legs from beneath the sheets. “How are you feeling?”

She sighed, but a happy sigh. “I’m radiant, my love. Nothing like a good fucking and a nap to get your head straight.”

Rafe laughed, loud enough for it to echo in the cabin. He’d never laughed this much in his entire life. “You’re right about that.”

Layla sits up in the bed, the sheet falling from her chest, revealing her perfect breasts. Rafe looked at them adoringly, then looked back up in her eyes.

“So it looks like we’ll have to fend for ourselves food wise. Are you hungry?”

Layla grinned. “I think we’re going to have to fend for ourselves in multiple ways darling.”

Rafe sighed. Despite the love that he found, he knew that there was an entire war occurring just outside that door. Well, an approaching war anyway, and that in itself was a lot to deal with.

“You’re right. How do you feel about finding Darla?”

Layla leaned back against the wall. She was thoughtfully staring up at the ceiling. Rafe watched her in silence, watching the beautiful mind twirl inside her skull.

“It’s practical. She will definitely know more that will help us out. And maybe Galen too. I feel like there’s an entire chapter that we’re missing in this story.”

Rafe nodded. “That and getting word to Griffen as well. It might be easier with two wolves instead of one to get through all of these fighters. So you’re right, I think finding Darla is the first step here.”

Layla rubbed her face, then picked up her bra and panties as they lay on the floor. She slowly began getting dressed, but Rafe remained still. He wanted to drink her up every little bit he could. “We should get going you dirty dog.”

He smiled, then growled at her. “It's not exactly an easy sight to turn away from darling!”

She finished getting dressed, then handed him his clothes. “I’m famished from all that love making. We need fuel before we head out toward my sister. Who knows what else might be out there too.”

Rafe pouted dramatically. “Why can’t we just stay in this cabin forever, hmm? Fucking and eating, nothing else in the world to worry about.”

Layla came to him as he finished buckling up his pants. She held him by the chin. Her eyes were stunning, blazing under the dim light. “Because I know that there is more for you to worry about. Remember, Griffen? He might be next on the kill list.”

He crunched his features, then took her face into his hands. “I know, I’m just fantasizing. I was never able to do that until I met you.”

They kissed deeply. It was difficult not to get hard and fall back into the abyss of their bodies, but Layla made the difficult decision to pull away when she heard her stomach growl. Rafe smiled, glancing down at her. “Wow, now who’s the real animal here?”

She lightly tapped his face. “We’re not really that different darling.”

Rafe finished getting dressed, then they both sat on the bed next to each other. They embraced, reveling in the warmth and comfort of each other’s presence. Rafe really did want to stay there, just like that, till the end of time. But he also knew he had obligations to Griffen and the pack.

He kissed Layla’s neck, noticing the light bruise he had given her during their love making. “It looks like I’ve marked you.”

She turned to him, running her hands along his cheekbones. “Indeed, you have.”

The End.
