He drops to one knee in slow motion, and I think I stop breathing when he pulls the most beautiful princess cut diamond ring I’ve ever seen in my life.

“I’ll gladly keep that pee thing in mind. Some people are into that.” He smirks.

“Oh my God. Oh my God.” I cover my mouth in shock.

“Phoenix, my life changed forever the day you walked into it. I knew the minute I laid eyes on you; I was fucked. You became the one I couldn’t shake. The one I didn’t want to shake. From that point on, I only saw you. You changed my life in more ways than I can count. Change it in one more way. Marry me? Please?” Tears begin to pool in his eyes.

I drop to my knees in front of him and tackle him to the floor, laying kisses all over his face.

“Is that a yes? Please tell me that’s a yes, because this is an odd way to tell a guy no,” he asks through laughter.

“It’s a yes. It’s a hell yes. It’s an absolutely. It’s everything.”

We sit up, me across his lap, as he slides the ring onto my left hand.

“No more running, now,” he declares.

“Not a chance. You’re stuck with me forever.” I kiss his lips once more.

“I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
