He placed his hands on her hips and slowly pulled out of her warmth, and they both flinched–her from being sore and him because of a sharp pain in his thighs from overworking them during their sex. He reached onto the ground and retrieved his old shirt, and before Madison could register what he was doing, he started to clean their fluids from between her legs.
“No! Not my shirt,” she complained to him. “You’re going to ruin it!” Madison tried to grab the shirt from his hand weakly, feeling how wet it was beneath her fingers.
“Ugh,” she groaned. “It’s going to be impossible to clean now.”
Kade laughed at how serious she was about the silly shirt he’d left here ages ago. “You can still clean it,” he offered, “You’re just going to have some fun memories attached to the new stains.”
Madison rolled her eyes and tossed the shirt back onto the floor, sitting up on her forearms. “We’re going to need to shower anyway; a whole beach towel couldn’t help us right now.”
Kade laughed again and moved off the couch to help Madison to her feet.
“A shower sounds perfect.”
He slowly tugged down the remnants of her shorts and helped her step out of them before they took off down the hall towards the bathroom.
“I’ve never been choked like that,” Madison said suddenly as she turned the water on in the walk-in shower. Steam was already filling the room of the bathroom before Kade cleared his throat and responded.
“I would assume not since this was your first time.”
When she entered the shower stall, he reached out to touch her back.
“Was it okay?” Kade asked quietly, suddenly feeling insecure.
The worry was thick in his voice and it touched Madison that he cared so much.
Madison looked over her shoulder at him and smiled. “Yeah. It was honestly everything I’d fantasized it would be and more.”
Kade wrapped his arms around her from behind and sighed as the hot water cascaded over them. “You fantasized, huh?” He teased, dropping a kiss onto the crown of her head.
Madison wiggled her ass against his groin in a tantalizing manner, earning a deep growl from him. “What do you think made me so hot and bothered that I went to town in the office? You do something primal to me, Wilder. Even just in my thoughts.” She turned around and draped her arms around his shoulders before looking up at him.
“I’m glad it was me, Madison,” he admitted but didn’t back down from her gaze. He wanted her to see he wasn’t just feeding her a line. He wanted her to know he wasn’t using her. Madison brushed a kiss across his lips and smiled. When his gaze lingered on her, she was nervous about how this was going to be when moving forward.
“I have a feeling I know where this may be heading, or at least I hope I do,” she whispered, trying to mask any doubt she felt about them. “But... Can we do this again sometime?”
Kade couldn’t contain the heat in his eyes when he rested his forehead against hers, water trailing down the hard lines of his jaw onto her chest. “There’s another party next weekend,” hewhispered as his hands moved over her soft curves and settled over her breasts. “They called it an ‘ABC’ party–it stands for Anything But Clothes.” He gave her the most wicked grin, and she almost wished he’d slam her against the shower wall and take her again.
“Sounds perfect,” she breathed and pressed another kiss to his mouth. Kade returned her kiss until he felt himself getting hard again. It was too soon so he gently turned her around and then worked on washing Madison’s hair and scrubbing her body.
“I’ve got to work a shift at The Serpent Pit for Jag next weekend, but I can meet you there after it’s over. Or we can just come back here and skip the whole thing.”
Madison rinsed her hair out, the bubbles pooling at her feet as she turned to face him. “Nope, I’m going to that party. I’ll make you go insane before you need to drag me back here.”
“Fine. But first, we should burn your couch before Alison comes home,” Kade teased, and their laughter bounced off the tile around them as they talked about how to clean up the evidence of their night.
CHAPTER FOUR
Kade stepped into the neon-lit bar of The Serpent Pit, the familiar scent of sweat and beer mingling in the air no matter how much Sadie washed the floors and bleached the tables.
Tonight, though, something feltoff.
The bar had transformed, with chairs and tables cluttering the sides and pool tables shoved back against the walls. Instead of the usual noise of laughter and music, a heavy silence hung over the room since the event hadn’t started yet.
“Hey! Kade!” Jagger’s voice whisper-shouted, urgency etched across his face. He stalked toward Kade from around the bar, and without warning, he thrust a plain black mask against his chest.
“Put it on,” Jagger ordered, his tone leaving no room for argument as he put on his own black mask.
There was nothing special about them, just a full face mask that only had openings for the eyes and nose.
