"Dance with me!"
"Fuck you!"
He makes a shocked face to see me suddenly so angry, but I don't give a damn. I brutally push him and he lets go of me. Finally! Now, where is that guy from earlier...
"You little bitch!"
It's the bear guy again, grabbing my wrist this time. I turn around to glare at him. Isn't this drunkard going to let me go?! I can't cause a scene here, but my anger is dangerously rising. I try to look around for Ben, but maybe he hasn’t managed to find me in the crowd. I try to pull my wrist away from that guy using all my strength.
"I said fucking let go!" I shout.
"Hey, what are you doing?!" yells another guy, trying to make the bear guy free me. "Let the girl go!"
Another guy gets involved too, and they all start yelling at each other and... growling. That's right, I forgot this was a werewolf lair. The two guys who just got involved are growling, but the bear guy is definitely human, as he starts insulting them, calling them mutts and dogs. As they argue and growl, they even seem to forget about me. I get impatient. Either Ben or whoever I was chasing, I need to find one of them.
"Let me go!" I yell again, trying to push him away.
"Little bitch!"
Unlike my expectations, he suddenly pushes me, and I fall backward. I don't know if people avoided me or stepped out of the way, but I violently hit the floor. I feel the pain resonate through my head, and suddenly, a flow of voices invades my mind.
It's as if, while I'm getting stoned by the pain, something was unleashed inside. I feel it. This darkness from before, bursting out like a violent hurricane. It's... strangely thrilling. Like a wave of fire flowing through my veins, giving me the chills. I feel... powerful.
Kill him.
I get back up, fire in my hands. I even want to laugh, it's thrilling to see the surprise in that guy's eyes and the fear around us. Everyone who noticed steps back. The lights keep flashing, and I feel the darkness grow around me. I take a step forward. It's so amusing to see that fear in his eyes as my fire dances in my hands.
"A... a witch!"
I snicker. That's right. Did they notice just now?
Kill that human.
Should I? I have a smile on my lips, my fire dancing around my fingers, and ready to do whatever I want... I take another step, my hands raised in front of me, showing the beautiful flames coming out of me. The guy stumbles backward. He hurt me. Why shouldn't I hurt him back? This man deserves it, doesn't he? Men are such vicious creatures. I should–
"Enough."
Someone suddenly grabs one of my wrists, and I fly above a shoulder before violently falling on my back on the floor. I don't understand what just happened, and a sharp pain explodes in my wrist before I do. I hear my own voice screaming, and my body is dragged on the floor.
Something icy brutally pours down on me. I come back to my senses, a bit shook.
"Everyone get the fuck out. Now."
I hear running steps around me, all getting away. I'm cold and drenched. Is that a... an ice bucket? I shiver and look up.
A blonde woman is standing above me, out of breath and looking furious. But what hits me the most is that strange golden, warm halo around her. Like... an aura. She pushes her hair back, shaking her head.
"You damn witch... I knew you were trouble."
"You're... Selena?" I mutter.
Chapter 6
I am drenched on the wooden floor, but at least, I'm now very much... awake. I take a few seconds to come back to my senses, the icy water is quite efficient for that. The club emptied in a matter of seconds around us, the last people squeezing themselves through the doors to get out. Someone stopped the music and those horrible flashing lights too, and now a normal white light is on.
It allows me to see the woman standing above me, looking absolutely furious. She's tall and beautiful, with perfect body proportions, making me feel like a worm under her. The one thing I'm mesmerized about is her... aura. It's a strange feeling, something invisible yet very palpable to me. It gives off a warm yet oppressive feeling... Is this the famous Alpha aura that Bonnie told me about?
"Ben, go close all the doors," she says, ignoring my question.
