I look around, wondering if I can find something to help, but there's really nothing here. It's not even a room, it's just like a dark bubble, with no floor or walls. As if I was trapped in my own mind, which has got to be true somehow. What the hell can I do here? I glance down, realizing I'm still bleeding. The blood seems to fall into something like nowhere... Crap, this looks really bad...
"Spark! Spark!"
My last resort is to call out to my cat, but I have no idea if he can hear me. I wait and try calling him a few more times, but nothing happens. Moon Goddess, I hope he's more useful wherever he is, because I could seriously use a clue right now... I glance around me once more, at a loss on what to do.
That's when something happens. On my left, something suddenly appears, a large oval emitting some bright light. I frown and get closer, until the brightness disappears to show what's going on outside. What the hell?! That's me! I mean, the other Mara! What's going on?
"You really didn't manage to do anything?" asks Liam's voice.
Wait, Liam is there too? I get closer and realize the other Mara's washing her hands, probably facing another mirror! So that's how it works... She glances up to glare at me briefly. I know you see me, you damn bitch... I violently bang against the mirror, as strongly as I can, but nothing happens. Maybe she's ignoring me, but behind her, Liam is standing there with his arms crossed and doesn't seem to be noticing anything either.
"Liam! Liam, I'm right here!" I yell.
"I didn't. Why do you keep asking?"
"I don't know... Something feels different," he says, stepping back.
Moon Goddess, he knows. He can sense something is wrong! I can tell in the way he's standing away from her. Liam wouldn't leave me alone to wash an injury, he would be right there next to me. We can barely bear to be apart, yet now he won't make a move toward her.
Damn, that's my man. If only I could tell him I'm right here...
"Are you alright?" he asks, frowning.
I glance closer, down at what's going on in the sink. The other Mara glares at me, but I want to know what's happening. ...The injury? She keeps flushing the cut under the water, but the blood won't stop. Why? I look down at my own cut, still bleeding too. I couldn't care less because of my current situation and I did mistreat my fingers while banging against that mirror, but... wait, is that why? I grab my finger, and pinch it, forcing more blood out.
"Ah!"
Holy crap, that's it. If I'm bleeding, the wound on my body still bleeds; the volume of blood in the sink increases just as I pinched my wound. That's still my body, I'm still connected to it, and she can't heal if I'm not healed. Interesting.
I slap myself, and the other Mara opens her eyes wide, glaring at me and suddenly holding her cheek. So she does feel the pain if I'm feeling it... Well, you deserved that one for sure, you damn bitch.
"Mara?" Liam calls her.
"I'm fine. Just... bring me a towel."
"Okay..."
Liam goes out of sight, and she glares at me.
"You'd better stay still and behave," she hisses.
"Trust me, there's no way I'm going to let you mess with them, you bitch," I growl.
She clicks her tongue, and that makes me curious. Does that mean I can really mess with her? So, she can't do anything she wants, because this is my body. She won't be able to avoid staring at a mirror or seeing her reflection all the time. There's got to be something I can do about this messed up situation, I'm sure.
Liam comes back, wrapping her hand in a towel with a frown.
"Liam..."
I don't like the way she calls out his name. What is she going to...?
"What?"
"Can you kiss me?" she asks.
Freaking Moon Goddess, that damn bitch. How fucking dare she?! She glances at me in the mirror with a slight smile, but facing her, Liam isn't smiling. He chuckles nervously.
"It's... a first that you're asking," he mumbles.
