DETECTIVE:Good afternoon, Mr. Clark. Thank you for coming in. For the record, could you please state your full name and current address?

AC:Um, yeah. Augustus William Clark. I live at[REDACTED]

DETECTIVE: Thank you, Mr. Clark. Now, are you aware that you are being interviewed concerning the disappearance and subsequent homicide of Willow Elizabeth Montgomery? (Indescribable chatter)

AC: Yes, I am aware.

DETECTIVE: Can you tell me about your relationship with Ms. Montgomery?

AC: We were . . . we were dating. She was my girlfriend.

DETECTIVE: And how would you describe your relationship with Ms. Montgomery?

AC: It was . . . it was good. Great, even. We had our ups and downs like any other couple, but overall, it was good. I loved her.

DETECTIVE: Did you see Ms. Montgomery on the night of her disappearance?

AC: Yes, I did. We were at a party together. It was for spring break.

DETECTIVE: And can you walk me through what happened that night?

AC: Can I ask why we’re going over this again? I already spoke to the police when Willow went missing.

DETECTIVE: This is no longer a missing persons investigation, Mr. Clark. We’re trying to ensure that none of our wires are crossed here.

AC: Because you think one of us did it right? That’s why you called me and my friends in here today?

DETECTIVE: Mr. Clark?—

AC: Augustus is fine.

DETECTIVE: If you could answer the question, Augustus, that would be great.

AC: We were all hanging out, having fun. Willow and I disagreed. She wanted to leave, but I wanted to stay a bit longer. We argued and then she left.

DETECTIVE: Did you see her leave?

AC: No, I didn’t. I mean, I saw her walk out, but I didn’t follow her. I stayed at the party for a while longer.

DETECTIVE: Did you try to contact her after she left?

AC: Yeah, I texted her a few times, but she didn’t respond. I figured she just needed more space.

DETECTIVE: Mr. Clark, do you know of anyone who might have wanted to harm Ms. Montgomery?
