“I’m leaving for the night, Paige,” Summer called out to her boss, who was in the back inventorying some bolts of fabric. “I’ll lock the door behind me.”
Paige poked her head out from the workroom and grinned at Summer. “Have a fun weekend. Don’t do anything I wouldn’t do.”
Summer laughed. “That leaves the field pretty wide open.”
“Deliberately,” Paige said with a waggle of her dark brows. “Go and enjoy your time with Declan.”
Before walking out the door, Summer took a moment to put some lip gloss on and spritz her favorite fragrance on her wrists and neck, a little excited about tonight since Declan had informed her this morning that when he picked her up after work, he was taking her somewhere fun and very naughty.
She had no idea what his surprise was, but she loved that he was taking the initiative to do something different. To be spontaneous and whimsical, which she knew was the opposite of his more rigid and controlled personality.
First, he took her to a nearby restaurant for a quick dinner, insisting that she needed a break from her cooking for him and Rick all week, which she appreciated.
