Next year, I’m giving her triplets. I won’t rest until I do.

“We should take them with us,” Dahlia says over Lily’s brown hair. Our girl has my hair and eyes, while Byron has his mother’s features. “They would love—Oh.” Lily burps on Dahlia like she usually does after a late-night feeding. “Lily, sweetheart. You make the most adorable sounds.”

“You do, don’t you?” I chuckle and take over for Dahlia, holding our girl and walking her into the nursery while Dahlia picks the crying Byron up.

Somehow, through some twin magic, they know when one is feeding and stay silent until they’re done.

“So, what do you say?” Dahlia is the picture of peace in the dark nursery. With the silver light of the moon caressing her features, she almost looks innocent. “Can we take them with us?”

In their short month and a half on this planet, our babies have already watched every Halloween and Saw movie. They’re Dahlia’s favorite pastime while she’s nursing. I’m supportive, always am. I trust Dahlia’s instincts. I trust her love for our children and doing what’s right for them.

And if that means exposing them to horror and to their parents murdering bad guys,so be it.

“Sure, we can.” I’m being drawn to my wife. To the mother of my babies, who demanded to work until the day she gave birth. My lips are on her forehead, and Lily’s tiny hand is clutching on her blonde hair. “We’ll do whatever you want.”

“Including more babies? Triplets?”

Lily releases her mother’s hair. I watch my family, knowing I’ll do anything for them. I’ll give my life for either one of them without blinking an eye.

Although I won’t have to.

Dahlia and I will kill anyone who comes near us.

“Yes, little savage.” I smile and fucking mean it. “Including more babies. You’ll have anything and everything you want. In this life and the next.”

“I love you.” She smiles, her fangs gleaming in the moonlight.

“I love you. I’ll always love you.”

The End.
