“I hate what you did to me. I hate everything about you.” We were both fucking twisted, getting off on the hate that coursed between us. The hate that lived between the secrets I couldn’t tell her.

Everything about this was wrong. I was fucking my family’s mortal enemy and knew I would never be able to stop because her pussy was addicting, her mouth too sweet, and her moans were so erotic; she was my perfection.

“I hate you, Ash,” she cried out, and her pussy clenched around my cock.

“Let it go, mi sol,” I encouraged, and as she bounced one last time, I let go, sinking deep into oblivion.

“Ash,” she moaned, then she came with me, both of us crying out in pleasure. I guided her off my cock, the stickiness dripping out of her may have made me want to dive in for seconds, but I knew by the way her body relaxed next to me, I needed to give her a bit before I ravished her again.

I reached over and grabbed one of the washcloths I had and helped wipe her up.

“Thank you,” she responded, her voice now much softer and more delicate. “I am just so tired.”

I lifted her legs so I could tuck her underneath the covers, and she curled up as if that was exactly where she belonged.

“I’m too tired to go home right now. I just need a nap.”

“You rest.” Little did she know, I had no desire to let her leave anyway, even if she claimed she was going to.

“Ash?” She rolled over so her back was positioned against my chest, then I wrapped my arm around her and brought her as close as I could. I didn’t want this moment to stop. This feeling would forever be ingrained in my brain and only solidified the fact I couldn’t put Ember in harm’s way. I would do everything in my power to protect her.

“Yes, mi sol?” I asked.

“You know I don’t actually hate you, right?” she muttered, and I just kissed her forehead.

“I know, Ember.” Then she fell into a peaceful bliss. She brought me so much light. It was in that moment I knew everything would change.

Chapter eighteen

The early morning greeted me with the roll of thunder, jolting me from my sleep. I blinked, momentarily disoriented by the unfamiliar surroundings, only to remember I had spent the night in Ash’s room after our intense evening.

It was more than just sex; it was an electrifying experience that had etched itself into our memories. Ash had shown restraint, a tantalizing glimpse of hidden depths that left me even more intrigued. As the memories of our shared moments replayed in my mind, a curiosity burned within me. I wanted to ask him if he had ever participated with the others at the parties he hosted at the Den.

But, first, I had to pee so badly. Placing Ash’s arm on the bed, I lifted myself off the mattress as slowly and quietly as I could, not wanting to wake him.

“Ugh,” I muttered, remembering that the bathroom was all the way downstairs. Tossing one of Ash’s shirts on, I figured it was decent enough when it hit below my butt. It was just going to be a quick run, anyway.

Once downstairs, I tiptoed down the hallway and into the bathroom. The room across the hall had a small yellow light illuminated from the cracked door, and I could make out a naked figure in the back of the room, so I peeked in because curiosity got the best of me.

The closer I got, the more I realized there was not one but two naked figures letting out erotic moans. Embarrassed that I’d caught two people doing it, I scurried into the bathroom, trying to maintain the quietness only to bump into the bathroom door.

“Fuck,” I murmured, and the noises from across the hall quieted.Ugh. My face got hot, so I closed the door, then locked it.

I peed, then threw some toothpaste on my finger to brush my teeth the best I could before cleaning myself up a little.

Exiting the bathroom, I turned toward the room to take one last glance, and slammed face-first into . . .

“What the—” Looking up, the piercing deep-blue eyes of Ash’s best friend, who was leaning against the frame of his door, naked, met mine.

A flush rushed to my cheeks, heating them quickly.

As Rain looked me up and down, he laughed before saying in a low tone, “He works fast.”

“Excuse me?” I crossed my arms over my chest.

Rain turned around to shut his door, but right before closing it, he looked back up at me.

“You heard me.”
