Wait…

“Good, you’re awake.”

Fuck.

I rolled my gaze over to Beast, glaring at me from the other side of the bars. “You don’t give up, do you?”

His call was the last one I took before ditching my phone. He tried to convince me to come back, said it was club business. As far as I was concerned, there was only one person responsible for my brother. I told Beast to leave me the fuck alone—should’ve known he wouldn’t.

“Someone had to pull your ass out of the fire.”

I didn’t ask him to do shit.

“So, what’s your plan?” Sighing, I laid back down on the ground and threw my arm over my eyes. “Keep me locked up until I play nice?”

That could take a while, if it happened at all.

“You’re out of control, Chase.”

“Chase is dead.” I snapped, cutting him off.

“That’s funny,” Beast snickered. “Cause I’m pretty sure I’m looking at him right now.”

Technicality.

“It might be a sorry excuse of the man I know, but he’s still in there.”

“You sure about that?” I muttered.

My heart fluttered while my blood boiled at the sound of a familiar feminine tone.

“I am.”

Naomi?

I could feel her eyes on me, but I couldn’t make myself look at her. All I could do was grumble, “Why are you here?”

Hadn’t I hurt her enough?

“Why am I here? Really? That’s the first thing you’re going to say to me? Not, I missed you, Naomi. Or I’m sorry I took off, but why are you here?”

I didn’t have to look at her to see the snarl on her face. That plump pink lip curled up while her eyes shot me daggers. I’d jerked off to that image, so many times I’d lost count.

“You know what, Chase Mathers? I should kick your ass. Not only for having the worst reaction ever but for that skank you had in your bed.”

I couldn’t help but smirk. She was probably pacing around right now, waving her hand through the air while bitching me out.

“Do you even know her name?”

“No.” I forced myself to come out from the shelter of my arm and look her in the eyes. “But she sucks a mean dick.”

If my comment hurt Naomi, she didn’t show it, didn’t even flinch as she crossed her arms and narrowed that green glare in on me.God, I missed those eyes.

“Is that supposed to hurt me?” Her lips twisted in a mocking frown. “If you think I played mother Teresa while you were gone? Think again.”

What?! Who the fuck touched her?

Every muscle in my body tensed as I gritted my teeth. It doesn’t matter. This was what needed to happen. Naomi was Chase’s girl.
