Hearing our clear dismissal, Erwald portals us out, and we quickly escape before they change their minds about letting us go.
Jade slumps against Arran, and he lifts her bridal style into his arms, clutching her to his chest.
I’m just happy he didn’t let loose his berserker during that whole shitshow.
“Does that mean I am free?” Jade asks, fear coating her voice. She isn’t ready to believe things are going to work out in our favor.
“Yes, my sweet child,” Erwald says, true endearment in his tone. “I can report back any information or progress you make so you don’t have to suffer Muldon’s hostility.”
Her mind is easy enough for me to read now that we’re bonded, and she wants to scoff at her father calling her sweet or a child. Though another part of her secretly loves it.
She’s been aching for love all her four decades. And that’s exactly what I, and her other four mates, intend to give her until the end of her days. And beyond.

THE ANSWER
JADE
My mind is still spinning with the revelation that Maxum and I are both demon royals. I always knew I could be a royal pain in the ass. Now it’s official.
Maxum is a bigger deal in hell than he ever let on. No one in our pack knew. He begrudgingly confessed that he could have had his father’s seat on the council if he had challenged him for it. But he didn’t want a demon’s life, especially one of a ruler.
The guys are being brats about it and calling himThePrince of Morally Gray.
All too soon, it’s time to part ways with my father. He says he has a few things to take care of to ensure my safety.
“If any demons show up, fight with all you have,” my father says, then gives me his secret demon name so I can summon him if I need him and asks Maxum to teach me how to dial-a-demon.
I give my father a shaky hug goodbye and a promise to keep in touch.
Maxum gives him our contact information so we can connect in the future since our pack intends on a lying low for a while.
Osen has hinted it’s a mating honeymoon.
I’m a bit surprised when Maxum portals us back to his lake house as the sun sets behind the rolling mountains.
“I thought this place was compromised and not safe anymore,” I say, taking in the beautiful sight. This house was the first place to truly feel like a home.
“We’re free to return now that Galiana and Rob are no longer a threat, and it seems her minions are dead, too,” Osen explains.
“Amira also gifted me the secret of her powerful wards so I can create them around the property,” Maxum adds.
Happiness bubbles out of me that my pack has their home again. It was always meant to be their permanent retreat. I nuzzle into Calder’s chest, and Osen presses behind me and kisses the top of my head.
“Stop hoggin’ her.” Arran grasps my hand and pulls me free from the love sandwich. He turns to rub it in their face that he now has me and sticks out his tongue.
Flint uses the moment to sneak attack, snatches me up, and runs toward the house. He has the widest grin I’ve ever seen.
“Hey!” Arran whines and gives chase.
Maxum races ahead like a bullet. It’s stunning how powerful they are. My demon prince unlocks the front door and flings it open.
I peek over Flint’s massive shoulder to see the others clamoring and shoving to be the next through the door.
Their faces are filled with joy and childlike excitement. My heart glows seeing them drop all their past suffering to play.
Flint slides me down his rock-hard body, but with just enough give in his flesh to remind me what I gifted him duringour mating. He turns me to face the open plan living area with the attached gourmet kitchen.
