“Let’s go!”

Even without their uniforms, the girls were perfectly in sync, lining up in four rows and grinding their hips to the beat. Hip-hop wasn’t my kind of music, but the way they moved, hitting each beat in perfect synchronicity, left me hypnotized.

Ice Ice, Babypulsed through the speakers, and I watched as Coach Kelly barked orders at them, her arms raised in instruction.

I stared, unable to help myself. Not like she’d notice—she was too busy orchestrating over twenty cheerleaders.

“Yes! Hit…hit…hit! Lindsay, speed it up a little, you missed that last beat!”

Her voice was masculine, deeper than most females I knew. I leaned forward, resting my elbows on my knees and placing my chin in my hands, listening.

“Go, hit…hit…yes, you got this! Remember what we talked about this summer!”

I had my curiosity dialed in on high, and once I invested in something, I fixated on it...and I was certainly invested in this scene.

Slowly, I brought my bottom lip into my mouth, nibbling gently as I watched Coach Kelly clap and pace, her eyes focused on the routine.

That’s what it was, right?Hercreation,Herinstructions.Herteam.

I could barely make friends, and this woman was out here on a college campus puppeteering cheerleaders with nothing but a whistle and a firm hand.

Fuck, it is so hot.

Leaning back on the bleacher behind me, I relaxed, imagining what it would be like to be on the team.

I manifested what I wanted to happen in my mind, envisioning myself in perfect step with the others, Coach Kelly praising me when I did a good job.

Smiling, I closed my eyes, and my nipples pebbled at the thought of her telling me what a good job I did.

I fixed my eyes on her once again, appreciating the generous curve of her tits that led to a gracefully long abdomen and even longer, toned legs. To see her stretched out and naked… Preferably on the floor of my bedroom.

And it was then I knew I wanted to be on Coach Kelly’s team—no, Ineededto be on her team.

“I made pancakes and eggs, Mare. Come sit and eat. You’re always in such a rush to get to class early…I miss you.”

“I don’t have time, Ma. I’m meeting up with Harper this morning so we can go for a run.”

“Harper? Who is that?”

“Liv’s friend, remember? I told you this already. You should get some rest before your shift tonight.” I kissed the top of her graying head, slinging my backpack over my shoulder and trying to ignore the small pang of guilt I felt inside my chest. I hadn’t seen my mom at all lately, between her late shifts and my early mornings, there wasn’t any time. Pushing the feeling down, I tried to focus more on my own goals rather than hers.

“Ok, maybe we can do a movie night on my day off?”

“Sure thing!” I called, letting the heavy wooden door close behind me.

Harper waitedfor me near student housing, and it was only a twenty-minute walk from our little farmhouse on the outskirts of the campus.

Liv was my second cousin; our mothers grew up together in Vermont and remained close until mom had her accident.
