I clinked my glass with his, savoring the moment. “To us,” I replied softly, my voice filled with a love that had only grown stronger over time.
We sat together quietly sipping our wine, enjoying the peace of the night. The city lights sparkled beyond the window, a reminder of how far we’d come and how much we’d built together. There were no words needed between us. In that silence, we found comfort, a sense of unity that was both simple and reflective.
Andrew set his glass down and took my hand, his thumb brushing over my knuckles. “I don’t want us to lose this,” he said, his voice a gentle murmur. “No matter how busy things get, I want to keep making time for what’s important.”
“Me too,” I agreed.
Andrew stretched his arm over the back of the sofa, fingers lightly brushing against my shoulder.
In one swift motion, Andrew leaned closer, the hotness of his breath tantalizing against my skin. My heart raced as he brushed a soft kiss against my lips, a tender promise that melted away the chill of the outside world. I could taste the hint of fruity and sweet wine, filling me with a tender delight and enhancing the sweetness of the moment.
The kiss deepened, slow and lingering, as if we were the only two souls. Time stretched and bent around us until the only thing that mattered was the closeness of our bodies, and our hearts. When we finally pulled apart, breathless and smiling, I rested my forehead against Andrew’s.
The night stretched on, quiet and beautiful, wrapping us in an almost sacred peace. As we sat there, surrounded by the magic of the season and the love we’d built together, I thought, “Our life… is everything I could ever ask for and more.”
