Without flinching, I put a bullet through his head. He’s an innocent man, yet I don’t feel guilt. In my world, you either save yourself or let others bring you down. And Detectives Chase and Morgan were trying to bring me down.

After this, I’ll kill Morgan. And then I’ll get out of town.

I’ve already sent all the evidence to the police that Andrew killed Giovanni. There won’t be anything connecting me to the deaths of the two detectives. Sure, the police will wonder if it’s me, but they’ll have no proof.

This is the only way I can get a clean break.

This is the only way Aurora and I can start a new life together.

I always prided myself on being Nico Mancini, the most powerful man in New York. But even powerful men get taken down.

Now, the doctor hands me my son. He’s so tiny in my arms. So perfect.

“I want to name him Vincent,” I say.

Nico runs his hand down our son’s head. “Then, Vincent it is.”

Someday, I hope we can return to New York. Nico believes that when enough time has passed, we should be able to.

And in the meantime, we’ll be together with our son.

One happy family.

The family I never had after my father died. Now, my heart feels truly full.

I smile up at Nico, and he smiles back.

The End
