“Eternity, huh?” I muse, all of my anger dissipating as I dissolve under his blistering yet icy breath.

He can’t stifle his grin, and my lips find his neck before I slide over into his lap. His breath hitches, and he grumbles under his next breath as he shifts the gears down to slow the car.

“It seems you’ve gotten your hybrid in check just fine,” he mumbles through his arousal as my daring hands slide down to the rim of his pants.

“Mmm hmm.”

My grin spreads against his neck, and he lets a bit of a laugh escape before tilting my face to meet his.

“Eternity,” he says very seriously, his voice bringing forth the heated lust that is driving my body.

My lips consume his as he skids the car to a halt just in front of Seminole.

I’m yours for as long as you want me.

Stalking the Stalkers

“How long will you be on silent stalk this time?” I huff while slumping against Jase.

“I don’t know. It depends on how long this trail lasts before going cold.”

If I was with you, I’d keep the trail hot.

His wolfish grin emerges upon hearing what he assumes is innuendo, and I roll my eyes.

“If you’re going to read my mind, read it right,” I whisper in a scolding tone while playfully shoving him. “I meant I could follow any trail better than Shazy.”

My eyes point to the nature-loving hybrid who is meditating with his bare feet perched in seemingly uncomfortable position as he makes himself one with Mother Earth.

Jase snickers lightly, and then kisses my forehead before throwing his bag in the back of a jeep.

“You’re probably right, but he’s still pretty damn good.”

I stare at the man wiggling his tongue in the air while keeping his eyes closed. I turn back to Jase to give him a skeptical, are-you-fucking-kidding-me look, and he lets his laughter escape a little too loud.

“Damn it,” he chuckles while shaking his head. “He’ll do. For now, just behave and be safe. I love you. I swear I’ll call you the second I can. I’d prefer it if you didn’t spend too much time at Catagar in my absence.”

His joking tone doesn’t match the seriousness in his eyes, and I grin a little to goofily while leaning into him.

“Are you saying you’d be jealous?”

“Very,” he murmurs while letting his lips stroll over my forehead.

A small pout forms over my lips. He starts to question it, but I start explaining it before he can.

“We haven’t really defined our relationship. And it’s not like you don’t have a fan club riding around on your coattails,” I grumble while casually motioning to the giggling group of female officers loading up into a jeep nearby. “We’ve never said if we’re exclusive or if you’re still seeing other-”

My timid rambling is silenced by his heated lips. They quickly turn to ice, and then he jerks me to his body so forcefully it forces a grunt from my lips. He barely pulls back, his breath still finding refuge between my parted lips, and then his eyes lock with mine.

“We’re exclusive, very exclusive. I don’t want you with anyone else, and I can swear there’s no one else who could ever have me even if they stripped naked and dove into my tent.”

I cringe at that thought. It could actually happen with this bunch of foolish, eager women. He tilts my head up, and then he kisses me so softly for a brief second.

“I would rip the tent apart before shooting out their knees,” he jokes, and I let out a laugh despite my sudden anxiety.
